Baking Fun with Little One, Thomas & Friends Cupcakes

Honestly, I’m not really a baking person. LOL!
Because I felt there is so much hassle in baking. Or probably I am lazy. 😀

Recently, Jet asked me about baking cupcakes and he wanted to decorate the cupcakes.

I stumbled upon this Cupcake Decoration Workshop organized by Pastime, collaborated with Sugarcraft by mil which held at Book Garden Seremban Gateway.

I then signed up for Jet and myself. It was just a few hours workshop. But I noticed Jet enjoyed it and he did most of the steps by himself with a lil guidance from the teacher and me.

One day, when I was doing shopping at Jaya Grocer The Gardens Mall, I chanced upon this box of Thomas & Friends Cake Kit. It was placed at the baking section. The instructions sounded simple and easy with everything included in the box. (except egg). So, I took a box and decided to give it a try.

We did this over the weekend to fill our time.

It says 10 minutes to make and 12 minutes to bake. So in total will be less than 30 minutes.

While letting the cakes to cool, lets do the icing mix. Just add cold water and mix until its smooth. Begin with adding 10ml water, then gradually add water if you prefer the icing to be more spreadable.

Yay, the cakes are now ready for decorations. Furthermore the cakes rise very well, aren’t they?

Baking2

Jet’s most interesting part was to decorate the cupcake.

Baking3

I spread the icing, while Jet did the decorations. Patiently arranged the stars. (Everything on the cupcake is edible, except for the cases ya)

  1. So pretty, the cakes…and your boy’s growing to be one real handsome kid. I used to be the one to beat the cake batter for my mum too when I was small – dunno why she never asked my brother.

    1. Awwwww….Thank you Arthur!
Do u like beating the batter? Hmm…Mayb your mom sees that you has interest in it? Or maybe your brother is more clumsy handling it?
