Kampar Claypot Chicken Rice @Taman Bidara, Seremban.

My first post of the year…… Wishing everyone Gong Xi Fa Cai!!

What is your criteria of a good claypot chicken rice?

For me, a good claypot chicken rice has to be flavorful, rice evenly coated with sauce, not lumpy (soft).

Nowadays its very rare to find those claypot chicken rice that slow cooked using charcoal fire stove.

In Seremban, there’s this place serving claypot chicken rice which claimed as Kampar Claypot Chicken Rice. I heard that the owner is from Kampar. By far, this is the best claypot chicken rice in Seremban. Located at Taman Bidara, behind of Do Re Mi Baking Academy.

The claypot chicken rice was cooked upon order. Therefore be prepared for some waiting time. This place is usually quite full during lunch hour (before Covid).

I like the aroma of the rice when it was served piping hot. Rice is cooked with marinated chicken, Chinese sausage, not forgetting the salted fish for extra flavors then sprinkled with scallions. (RM9 for single size serving.)

What I liked most about this place is that the claypot chicken rice is served with pickled shallots and cili padi to give you some crunchiness.

Another dish that I like is the Yellow Wine Chicken which make you sweat. LOL!

Besides that, they also served some simple blanched vegetables, steamed soup (watercress soup, lotus root soup, etc….may varies daily).

You can give them a call to place order so that you don’t have to wait long.
