I wish to have a dog at home.

I wish to have a pet at my home.

I love dogs especially.

I wish to have a dog at home.

I wish to go home greeted by him, wagging its tail vigorously with hugs and kisses.

Waited eagerly for the owner to come home.

Dogs are very loyal especially towards their owner. Unlike some human betrays each other.

Photos like this made me feel like adopting one. Look! They are pedigree dogs. Why would someone abandoned such nice dogs? Often situations are the owner bought it for the sake to please their children. So when their children are bored with the dog…then they’ll just abandon it. Other excuses are “I can’t afford to rear the dog” I may not know the true story behind..but common..you can afford to buy the dog, but to can’t afford to give at least a simple living? Some just decided to gave up the dog when it has skin problem. Don’t you think that skin problem occurs depending on what you feed on them? All the above apply to cats as well. The most heart wrenching is they are abused by their owner. Hello….they are living being also! I can see their sadness through their eyes and face expressions..they felt disowned.

What hold me back from adopting one. I really wish I could. But before I press the “Start” button…I told myself..I often travel between 2 states, do I have the time for my dog? I’ll be away to work longer hours than I’m at home. What if someday I have my own family…will I neglect my dog? That’s what I often see these days. They do have feelings too. And do you know…dogs are sometimes smarter than human! No doubt they can’t talk, but they do understand what we are expressing. Never mind…I can’t have a dog at my own house…but over the weekend I can still spend time with my dearie doggies at my parent’s house.

Quite true isn’t it?

Do check out Malaysia’s SPCA and MDDBAnd if you are kind enough, why not do some donation, a small contribution to help the dogs and cats.

  1. that’s true, i can empathize. i would love to adopt a dog too, but my apartment building doesn’t allow it. and i guess even if i lived in a house, i’m not sure if the long-term responsibility would be something i can handle. but i do love dogs, and i respect and admire my friends who do have dogs at their homes 😀

  2. hmm i tot u have a dog jor?
true also..if u think u might neglect them..better dont la.

eee the siamese cat so cute!! i always wan to adopt a cat also. but hb commented my ownself also cannot take care..later sure ended up dump it to my mum for caring. 😦

    1. Ohh…those dogs are at my parent’s house ma…
LOL! Yalor…your HB has a point too.
There’s once a mama cat brought 2 kittens to my house. There’s a big brown box in my car porch, that’s where the mama cat placed them. I watches them grow from eyes not open till they can walk. The mama cat will come back to see them every night. Then one day I went home….both kittens when missing. No traces at all. So sad….nothing to look forward when I reached home T_T

    1. Baby Sumo – Yea…exactly! They are like children. And they sometimes do behave like a kid too. hehe…But many people keep dogs for the sake of guarding the house =_=

  3. I can’t imagine my life without my turning 10 years old furkid. Hehehe

Totally disgusted with the folks who give up their pets out of boredom or lousy excuses of cannot afford to feed them or “I didn’t expect them to grow to be so big”. Aaaargh!

    1. missyblurkit – My parent’s house now there is one old poodle…I’ll be very sad if one day he would to say Bye Bye…
Ya…those are sometimes lame excuses la…

  4. they say dogs are man’s best friend! I couldnt agree more… their loyalty really outdo us humans…. I used to have lots of dogs when I was growing up because my family home had lots of land… its harder for me now… but I like this post! 😀

  5. Tell you a “secret”…my hubby was a little freaked out thinking about loosing our freedom having a child etc. And after some arguments (he was insisting on a dog and I was on having a baby), I finally realised he was actually afraid..afraid of the huge commitment. People say having a child is like having 3 dogs. Hence, we got one dog. The first few months was tough as DJ was so small and young and we had to push away appointments and bring him wherever we went. Same as a child, it will get better but faster :). The first time I needed to send DJ for boarding, I was heartbroken and worried. But because I found a place where he can roam free with other dogs and only be in his cubicle when sleeping at night, he seems to be having fun there and even love being around the owner of the shop. Hence I did not feel so bad and treat it as his holiday home. He gets excited going there and also coming back to our place. When I got pregnant, I admit, I push DJ away a little more (disallow him to jump on to bed with me, afraid he might hurt the baby, etc), so my hubby compensated by playing more with him. I also agree, the time spent with him seems a bit lesser now, now that I have a toddler but looking at other ways, he have a new mate to play once in awhile and we still put aside some time for him daily (manja time…hehehe). My advice is you do not have to be a perfect owner or parents either to your pets or your children. It is perfect enough when it is good enough and your “kids” are happy being with you

  6. I agree with you Mel. I love to have a dog at home but my husband disallowed it. He said I am not ready and he is not too. Its the responsibility and commitment and we both knew that we can’t give our future dog a good home now. Taking care of the dog will be tough as we always come home late after work. It’ll be lonely and abandoned at home and we dont want that as well.

  7. I wish we had too! The last time I had one was way back in the Philippines 10 years ago. Its kind of hard here in NZ specially knowing that we love to travel, how to leave them.
