During my short gateway to Ipoh on December 2022, I searched for food recommended by the locals. Chee Wah Restaurant appeared in my list. Looking at the simple dish which I think my family would like it, we decided to give it a try.

Chee Wah Restaurant is located in front of Bedrock Hotel Ipoh-at old town of Ipoh. As you can see the restaurant itself looking rustic. Sometimes I preferred to look for such old restaurant, because usually the food is quite legit. I also read that this old restaurant has been operating for almost 3 decades.

On the menu clearly shown there are only 2 dishes. Pretty straight forward isn’t it. The signatures dishes all these while. Claypot Lou Shu Fun & Fried Chicken Wings.

In our view, a big bucket of marinated wings getting ready to be fried in a wok of hot oil. Whilst on another side was an array of claypots on charcoal stove, cooking everyone’s order (claypot lou shu fun).

The raw egg was cracked into the claypot as soon as it was served on our table.

Coincidentally it was raining that evening. This pot of piping hot noodle with thick broth came just at the perfect time. Stirring the 2 raw eggs in the piping hot pot of noodle, made the broth even smoother and creamier. 1 pot may serves 2 eaters.
Simple ingredients, minced pork, bean sprout, pork lard and shallot oil.

Fried chicken wings was well marinated and the meat was tender too. We even dapao extra as supper in our hotel room. hehe…..

It was really a comfort meal. Furthermore I am a fan of ‘lou shu fun’ too.
If you plan to visit, do check their Facebook Page for updates, because they often change their business day.
