Taking this opportunity to wish everyone here Happy Mid Autumn Festival, 中秋节快乐.
Enjoy the every bite of mooncake under the beautiful moon while lighting up your lanterns.
Mooncake Festival (Mid-Autumn) is around the corner. You can easily get or find a mooncake selling in shopping malls or any bakery shop. Even Hotels are promoting their best mooncakes. Don’t get surprise you will be spoilt for choice. The snowkin or baked mooncakes are rather common these days. How about trying some jelly mooncakes? Yea..they do have fillings like the ordinary mooncakes, but the skin is made of jelly.
Last weekend, brother in law bought a box of jelly mooncake from Q Jelly Bakery Shop.Q Jelly Bakery Shop, the house of jelly is well known for its creative and freshest jelly cakes for all occasions.
A box of 4, simply pleasant as gifts. It requires to consume within 2 days of purchase.
Q Jelly claimed that the jelly is Green Seaweed imported from Japan. Moreover all the food color dyes are approved by “The Food and Drug Administration” (FDA) in United States. So, no worries bout that.
From Left; Mango Filling, Taro Filling.
From Left; Winter Melon Filling, Sweet Corn.
All 4 flavors are nice. They aren’t too sweet either. I personally much preferred the fruit flavors. I find it more special.

Received a box of biscuits which printed with the name of “Healthy Mooncake” from a friend whom purchased it from Bukit Pelanduk, Port Dickson. However in a box of 4; there’s only 1 piece of them is teochew mooncake . The remaining 3, it looks rather like ‘kah lui peng’ or wedding biscuits. I assumed it might be quite popular over there kua….. =p
the box of 4
printed the address & contact number
the smaller one – tasted like tau sah piah(mung bean filling)
the bigger one – crispy skin with moist red bean paste filling (I preferred this)
This is the teochew mooncake. The filling is alil bit salty & alil bit sweet. Contains pig’s lard, tiny pieces of winter melon, tangerine peel, shallot
Overall the taste is fine. Not too sweet either. 😉
*NON-HALAL*
Mooncake/ mid-autumn festival is just a within few days. Alex bought a box of mooncake from YONG SHENG; Taipan’s outlet. My first time heard of this name was during my wedding preparations. I was told that their ‘kah lui peng’ has nice packaging or nice gifts set. Am trying their mooncakes now. It does have unique flavors. Allow me to intro and comment each of it. 😉
containing mix fruits nuts, nyonya sambal, moonlight kiss, passion for life.
This is the best seller mooncake. Contains dried shrimp sambal with lotus paste filling. Initially I thought the combination is weird; but after tasted it….its quite nice actually.
This mooncake has purple sweet potatoes filling. I like the taste of it.
contains alot of nuts. somehow; I don’t like it. May be cos I’m not used to the taste of it…It tasted abit like ‘kai jai peng’
This is a very unique one. The filling of first layer is white lotus, second is ice-blended and third layer has the taste of braised pork, which I thought it was ‘mung bean’. Not bad too….
Nowadays; there are so many types of mooncakes. So many types of flavors or filling too. Sorry; I do not bake nor made any mooncakes. I just know how to eat only….muahahaha…
Ordered a box of jelly/agar-agar mooncake from my colleague’s friend. Its a homemade basis. I assumed it should be non-preservative. It comes in a box containing 4 pieces of mooncake with different flavors and fillings with the price of RM15. Quite cheap right? I like the texture of it. Not too sweet though.
It look so colorful & attracting
mango flavor skin with mango extract filling
I like this the most! very fruity taste
