Sukiyaki Buffet Lunch @ Sukishi, IOI Mall Puchong

So sorry to my readers. My blog has been so quiet, lacking of post. (Blame it on my work load).

Got miss me or not? LOL!

Last weekend I went for Sukiyaki Buffet Lunch.

Thanks to Kc Wong for sharing this deal:- Sukiyaki Buffet Lunch at Sukishi, IOI Mall Puchong for RM20.90

He also commented that Sukishi is under the company of SUKI-YA. The difference is that Sukishi serves pork while SUKI-YA is pork free.

I thought it would be a great deal to bring along my family for a sukiyaki & shabu-shabu lunch. Moreover it was mummy’s birthday as well πŸ˜‰

Sukishi is located next to GSC Cinema of IOI Mall, Puchong. Luckily I managed to get a table for 5. However there is a limitation on dining hour. Max. 2 hours dining time.

-SUKISHI-
Eat all you can sukiyaki & shabu shabu (Promo Lunch RM 29.80++ 11am-5pm ) (Dinner RM 39.80++ 5pm-10pm) Children from 5-12 50% off buffet price

current promo. Till 30th November 2013

Our dining table with nice view. *paiseh* didn’t know there is a lake behind IOI Mall also. *tsk tsk tsk*

The aroma of bubbling broth and simmering meat lures shopping savants indulging in retail therapy within IOI Mall Puchong to the contemporary indoor dining space of Sukishi, offering sukiyaki and sushi buffets. Individual tables and booth seating accommodates groups, while partitioned hot pots allow taste buds to savour a combination of sukiyaki, kimchi, shabu shabu, or miso soup flavours. Trays of Australian beef, chicken, and pork eagerly await selection as contenders of greens, mushrooms, and tofu ensure a balanced diet and fulfilment of food pyramids.

A simple one page menu for you to choose your choice of soup and meat. Also, in case you’ll love to add on some ala-carte dishes. I felt that the ala-carte dishes are reasonably priced.

Not sure how to enjoy sukiyaki? Fret not…its as simple as ABC by reading through this attractive info sheet placed on the dining table.

*Japanese steam rice is available upon request*

Choice of soup. We tried all 4 types. HAHA! Since we had 2 pots ma…. I personally liked Kimuchi (kimchi) and Sukiyaki as soup base. Because its tasty and goes well with the ingredients (eg: meat).

The dipping sauce.

Well…for the meat, we chose pork and chicken. From the photo, you can see that the meat are thinly sliced. The meat were fresh too!

Their sushi from the counter (inclusive in the bill) were very laku. I couldn’t get the chance to take a photo when the tray is fully filled.Β  😦

Selections of vege, mushrooms, beef balls, clams, udon.

*must try their udon*

Dressing sauce, wasabi and pickled ginger.

While waiting for the soup to boil….. lets have some sushi πŸ™‚

We also get a complimentary plate of tori karage (RM8.90 value), for Groupon users I suppose.

Bottomless Soft Drinks.

Condiments for the soft ice cream. Crushed peanuts, chocolate rice, natta de coco, cornflakes.

You can choose the ice cream to be serve on cup or cone. Aduishhh…. my face is so much bigger than the ice cream cone neh!! @_@ Anyway…they only serve green tea and chocolate flavor ice cream. But I preferred the green tea flavor. Smooth and the green tea taste wasn’t too strong.

Verdict : It was a pleasant experience. The environment here was not bad. I personally like the pork slices. Although we dine with groupon vouchers…. the service was good too.

Dinner @Village BBQ Steamboat, Puchong

Do you like steamboat? I like having steamboat especially when there’s a gathering with family or friends. I like the atmosphere where everyone happily enjoying the one pot thing.

photo from their FB page.
*typo on the word ‘Grill’*

Despite having the old skool way of steamboat, ever thought of 3 in 1? The other day I came across this newly opened steamboat restaurant in Bandar Puteri Puchong. Steamboat business is quite competitive in this area. 3 in 1 Buffet Steamboat look interesting to me. Steamboat + Frying (on pan surrounding the pot of soup) and BBQ on a small mobile bbq pit.

There are only 2 types of soup base offered here. Chicken soup & Tom Yam. Choose only one. I for sure to choose Tom Yam soup lar…. LOL!! But their tom yam soup was nice wor….

Buffet style means you can eat everything they served on the serving table. All you can eat buffet steamboat priced at RM35 (adult) RM25 (children). For children below height of 120cm…there is a minimal charge too. But I can’t recall the exact price. Sorry.

I took some cooked dishes from this section to fill my hungry stomach. I had some fried rice with curry chicken and some delicious lala (clam).

types of dried noodles to use for steamboat.

Varieties of frozen meat balls or processed meat.

Varieties of skewers consists of meat and seafood use for BBQ. Also assorted of marinated sliced meat use for grilling/frying.

More fresh seafood.

The vege corner. Assorted fishballs, mushrooms and beancurds.

More vege and cut fruits.

Types of dipping sauce. Opss…the empty slot were brought into kitchen to replenish.

Types of drinks offered here. They also provide Liong Cha (Chinese Herbal Tea).

When I was picking up some raw ingredients… I thought their washing area is kinda nice. Don’t you agree? :-p

Look, what we scooped for our steamboat.

scallops, mussels, clams….

BBQ-ing in progress.

This small BBQ pit in place next to each customer’s table, easier for us to do the BBQ thing.

Siew Kai Yik….siapa mau?? πŸ˜€

Yea…lets feast!

Good dining experience here. The food selections were not bad I felt. The choices of seafood offered, the prawns sizes are quite big I thought. Moreover the ingredients were fresh. Service was acceptable too. Hope they could maintain its quality for long term. Not only when its newly open lar hoh. πŸ˜‰

Steamboat will not be complete without ice cream. True or not?

Assorted ice cream flavors. But these kind of scooped ice cream is too common edi….

Ta daaahhh….more ice cream! Got in cone lar…. stick lar…. ice cream potong pun ada. Yay!

Steamboat @ O.K. Tuck, Brinchang, Cameron Highlands

With the daily temperature of 14Β° (min) to 22Β° (max), Steamboat became a popular thing here in Cameron Highlands. Knowing that the Chinese loves having something warm (a hot soup perhaps) ….therefore you can see many restaurants here serves steamboat. Steamboat on a chilly evening? Since there are so many of them, so which restaurant should I go?? To play safe, I asked my friend Wanyi who went there twice this year… ^^ I told her I want a nice steamboat and without ‘cut throat’ price. Apparently Wanyi suggested O.K. Tuck.

We were quite early. It was about 6+pm. I felt that it was a good time too…as the place was still quite vacant. The crowd grew when it was 7+pm. At O.K. Tuck, you’ll have the choice to either order the Chinese Style stir-fry dishes or Steamboat (which we were aiming for). Since we were there for the steamboat, therefore I didn’t bother to read the menu. =p

We have 5 diners. Each diner is priced at RM15 for the steamboat (its not buffet). I would say the price is reasonable. Well..I’ll leave it to you guys to judge the food based on the photos below. Apart from that, you may choose your choice of soup base. Choice of Herbal Soup, Chicken Soup, Tom Yam. Choose either one or you can opt for “yin yong” (2 types of soup). As an Asian…of cos I would like to have ‘Tom Yam”. Therefore we went for “yin yong”.

This restaurant is pretty visible because it has a huge signboard. Located opposite KFC.

1 person is entitle to 1 egg. Rice Vermicelli for steamboat. A pot of tea is price at RM3.

These are all the ingredients served.

Chicken Fillets & Fish Fillets.

Bean curd & Cuttlefish.

Fresh Mushrooms.

Jellyfish & Fried bean curd (Fu Chuk)

Prawns & Fish ball.

Check out the GREENS! So many types of fresh vegetables were served β™₯β™₯β™₯

Put in the ingredients and boil them. I preferred Tom Yam soup over Chicken Soup. Chicken Soup was quite bland.

Yeahhh….ready to eat! The piping hot soup along with fresh ingredients….the feeling was so great. The satisfaction!!

Dinner @ Bar.B.Q Plaza, Sunway Pyramid

Everyone of us miss the meal here. That was because our last visit was quite sometime ago, till I’ve forgotten the exact period. Therefore in conjunction to Mother’s Day…we decided to have a dinner at Bar.B.Q Plaza, Sunway Pyramid. Bar.B.Q Plaza is a self-cooking Mongolian and Japanese style barbeque restaurant. The very first BarBQ Plaza is located at Ladprao, Thailand. However it has now expand over few places in KL. The outlets are at 1Utama Shopping Centre (1st branch), Sunway Pyramid Shopping centre, AEON Bukit Tinggi Shopping Centre and Berjaya Times Square, IOI Mall Puchong & Gurney Plaza, Penang.

It was just 5+pm in the evening. Yet, its already full.

huh…another queue of the day. While lining in the queue; the waitress came passing the menu and took our orders. That may save sometime rather than me doing nothing while queuing.

Bar B Gon is the mascot of Bar B Q Plaza.

The barbeque sauce: mix together chili, squeezed lime, minced garlic and sauce (special vegetarian based sauce imported weekly from Bangkok)

Use the lard to grease the hot pan before placing all the meat and seafood for grilling.

Leave the meat to cook till it turn light brown. While placing more vegetables in the soup(around the pan) will add extra sweetness & much tastier soup.

Ready to eat

As an asian, we normally have rice in our meal. Therefore we ordered Garlic Rice – RM2.50/bowl

Supreme Seafood Set – RM35.90

(Fish Fillet, Squid, Shrimp, Chicken, Jelly Fish, Scallop, Udon, Sliced Cabbage, Baby Corn, Lettuce) – suitable for 2 pax.

Korean Pork Set (limited period only) – RM39.90

Some Banchan included in the Korean Pork Set

Marinated Pork Belly – RM6.90

Som Tam with Soft Shell Crab – RM8.90 (Its like a kerabu or Thai salad)

Chicken Wings with Lemon Grass – RM7.90

Chicken Skewers – RM6.90 (taste nice..but the meat is too hard)

The feast has begun. Everyone was busy getting their hands on the food.

A meal will not complete without a dessert.

Mango Sago – RM5 (Unfortunately it doesn’t taste that good)

Food : 4/5

Price : 3/5

Ambiance : 3/5 (I much prefer the 1Utama outlet. More comfy & spacious)

Dinner @ See U Village Steamboat

A halal steamboat restaurant is opened at Tesco Seremban 2.

Its no usual 1 big pot of soup on each table, instead each table comes with individual built in induction cooker. I prefer this method. Its more convenient and hygienic rather than mixing everything into 1 pot to be shared among everyone at your table. Who knows may be there are some people who can’t take seafood. At least now we can have our individual pot which allows us to cook the items that we ourselves like.

Unfortunately; it ain’t serving in buffet style. Its either you order in a set of 1, 2 or 4 pax or ala carte. Since its just myself, mom & bro; therefore we ordered a set for 2 (Dumpling Combo) and added some side orders.

Types of soup and the prices. There are 5 types of soup. Only ‘chicken soup’ & ‘tom yam soup’ are free of charge. 3 of us each ordered different type of soup. Chicken soup (kinda salty), tom yam soup (the best) & herbal soup (kinda bland).

Dipping Sauce

From bottom; blended red chili, fried shallot in oil, blended green chili.

Set for 2 (Dumpling Combo) – RM33.80

I was shocked when the waiter brought this plate over our table. Does this look like a set for 2 person?? Looked more like for 1 person. Or was it just me, the big eater? Adui…paiseh la if yes. ^^

A set of 2 includes 2 piece of noodles. There are 3 types of noodles for you to choose. We chose ‘yee mee’.

We ordered an extra plates of ‘chicken roll’, ‘chicken ball’ & ‘fried fish meat’. The dumpling is included in our set.

I dump everything into my pot of tom yam soup.

Christmas Eve Dinner @ Shabu Shabu, Seremban

It was Christmas eve. No turkeys, no western food. Instead we went for Shabu Shabu which newly opened in Seremban. It would be something new for Seremban’s residents. The 1st shabu shabu I had was at Puchong.

What is Shabu Shabu? Refer here:- Shabu Shabu

Since its Christmas Eve; we may as well play save. Made reservation in advanced. Mom gave hints to dine there when she first saw the advert printed on the advertising magazine.

What I like most above it; is that it has individual soup pot. Moreover the stove for each soup pot has an adjustable flame controller. They have a few types of soup. Herbal Soup, Malat Soup, Tom Yum, Tomato Soup, ABC Soup, Chicken Stock Soup. The Chicken soup will be free of charge. However the rest will have an additional surcharge of RM2. All the soup are refillable.

The ambiance

Herbal Eggs

Assorted Noodles & Vegetables

Fresh Mussels & Scallops

Ice Cream. (the normal ones)

Assorted dipping sauce

My pot of tom yam soup. We chose herbal soup, chicken soup, malat soup and tom yum. Eventually all the soup that we’ve picked are nice.

Cook everything in the pot

The fried chicken is very nice!

Price : RM24.60/ person (Free of charge for the birthday boy/girl). I felt that the price is rather abit high for Seremban standard.

Ambiance : Looks cosy & nice. But the ventilation is kinda poor. I went home with smelly hair =_=

REUNION @ Tasty Pot BBQ & Steamboat Buffet

A very first reunion we had ever since our trip to Taiwan. Really missing every moment we had in Taiwan. Therefore we decided to held a so-called reunion at Tasty Pot BBQ & Steamboat located at Sunway; where we can eat non-stop, while talks and laughs like nobody’s business is permissible too.Β  πŸ˜€

Wanyi enlightened us that we gotto be early there in order to get a good seat & food!Β  So; Andrew picked all the 3 babes (Ashley, Wanyi & Mel) from Midvalley at about 5.45pm and reached there at about 6+pm. Since it was still early, we able to pick up all the newly displayed food!

Its a 4-Storey building. You may either sit at ground floor or the upper floors. I would prefer to sit at the open air area on ground floor.

An array of seafood

Assorted Vegetable & Dried Noodles

Huge Crabs & LaLa (Clams)

No doubt the crabs are huge. Unfortunately most of them we had were not fresh. Too bad….

Shishamo from the grilling corner.

The Grilling Corner comprised of crab, fish, sweet potato, prawns.

Ikan Bakar from the Grilling Corner & Fried Chicken Wings coated with honey from the Cooked Area. The fish aren’t that tasty. But you mustn’t miss the chicken wings. Its the best one overall (my personal opinion).

Grilled Lamb with Black Pepper Sauce.

Please ensure that you grab this fast. Or else you will end up in a long queue.

The dipping sauce

We ordered the yin yong pot with 2 different soup. We chose ‘herbal soup’ & ‘tom yam soup’. The tom yum soup is GOOD!

The boiling pot

Self-scooped Ice Cream

Ashley, Andrew, Wanyi, Yew Kong

Price : RM26.80/ person (exclude drinks)

Capitol Satay Celup

Continued fromShort trip to Melaka

Got my map printed; read some reviews & recommendation from the internet. Reached the place at 4.55pm. The shop usually operates from 5pm. To my surprise; 5 minutes before 5pm, the restaurant already 1/3 occupied. (Luckily I was early; Luckily I got the help from google map, Luckily I managed to find a car parking lot). I’m not too sure whether is this the best one or not. But its recommended by many bloggers. Moreover the place is easy to find too! Approximate 20 minutes later; the crowd started to come in. The queue grew 10 times by the time we left at around 6pm.

Each skew priced at RM0.80.

each table are only entitled for 1 bunch of this “hou liu”
