Product Review : NARUKO NRK Cat Eyes Mask Set

2013-05-27 18.55.40

When I have eye bags, panda eyes (dark eye circle) due to lack of sleep or often sleep late, I know its time to do something with my eyes. Other than paying attention to our face most of the time… sometimes we may have neglected our eyes. Alright…its never too late do work on it.

When age comes into consideration, fine lines and anti-aging does matters.

Naruko Eye Mask

Very cute packaging.

Naruko Vitamin K Up-All-Night Eye Mask improves dark circles and eye circulation while providing long-lasting moisture.  The fragile capillaries surrounding the eye area often allow blood to leak into the skin, which causes under-eye circles. The use of Vitamin K puts an end to this seepage by controlling blood clotting. Plus it helps to lighten melanin that makes circles appear more prominent.

2013-05-08 23.57.32Thin and cotton like sheet mask for both eyes. The eye sheet mask is soaking wet with transparent essence. Its not sticky. While the extra essence which left in the sachet…I use it to apply over my elbows and knees. No wastage. 😉

2013-07-019Kindly read the instruction at the back of the sachet. It will be so uncool if you place the eye mask on the wrong direction. LOL! Because the mask was so wet….it kinda slip down slightly below my eyes.

Directions: After cleansing, apply eye mask with the pointy side placed near the inner corner of the eyes. Smooth evenly and wait for 15-20 minutes. Remove mask and continue with usual skincare routine.

  • Whitens
  • Brightens
  • Increases Circulation
  • Moisturizes

Verdict : No irritation. No strong fragrance smell. Which is a good thing. Cos I really hate mask with strong fragrance smell. However other than feeling hydrated and moisturized, it doesn’t show much improvement on my dark eye circle during first usage. (Maybe my dark eye circle was quite bad T_T).

Naruko Eye Mask1

Purrrr….really cute packaging too.

Naruko Peptide Purrty Kitty-Eye Lifting Eye Mask fortifies the elasticity and firmness of the eye area while helping to diminish fine lines. This eye mask was formulated to naturally plump out existing wrinkles and prevent new ones with the use of peptides. Peptides have the ability to stimulate collagen production, thus creating a firmer and more rejuvenated appearance.

2013-07-08 22.31.24Naruko Peptide Purrty Kitty-Eye Lifting Eye Mask comes with ear loop. Its much secure and firm having ear loop. Just like a hanger. And now…do I look like a catwoman? hehe…. Erm..pls. don’t tell me you sees Ninja Turtle in me. tsk….

Directions: After cleansing, secure ear loop of eye mask behind ears. Then smooth mask evenly around eyes and wait for 15-20 minutes. Remove mask and continue with usual skincare routine.

  • Anti-Wrinkle
  • Increases Elastin
  • Firms
  • Rejuvenates

Verdict : No irritation. No strong fragrance smell too. Which is a good thing. I somehow felt Naruko Peptide Purrty Kitty-Eye Lifting Eye Mask works on me. Leaving me with firmer and brighter eye. Because of its design… it not just nourishes my under eye but also my upper eye as well.

My advise: Please use it regularly in order to maintain the good skin. Same goes to everything..If you find it workable and suits you, its better to use them consistently to see a better effect.

Naruko Cat Eyes Mask Set consists of (1x) Naruko Peptide Purrty Kitty-Eye Lifting Eye Mask and (1x) Naruko Vitamin K Up-All-Night Eye Mask are now priced at RM6.50 (limited time offer)

Lets try some Fuzhou Cuisine @Koufu Trendy Chinese Cuisine, Subang Jaya

In Malaysia; Fuzhou dialect is widely spoken, especially in Sibu, Miri, Sarikei, Bintulu, Yong Peng, Sitiawan and Ayer Tawar. How do I expose to Fuzhou dialect?  My husband is a Sarikeian cum Fuzhounese. Can I speak in their dialect? Well…I tried learning…by hearing their conversation. I can speak a little..perhaps those simple ones lar… I can understand a little…but don’t speak too fast okay :-p Alex’s friends commented that Fuzhou language is like an alien speaking language. LOL!!

Other than speaking, of course their food is different too. I do like their food actually. No complains. However its quite difficult for us to find Fuzhou cuisine here in KL when there aren’t much Fuzhounese. Unless I cook at home. But sometimes, we can’t get the exact ingredients here. For instance, ‘red rice wine’. Fuzhou Red Rice Wine Mee Suah is my favorite and comfort dish!

I was quite excited to know about this new place, near to where we are staying…..serving authentic Fuzhou cuisine. Not from Sarawak, but Setiawan.

Photo by Koufu Trendy Chinese Cuisine

Newly opened on July 14 2013. Its located opposite to One City Mall. One City Mall is yet to open…only some shops opposite the mall are occupied now. Never expect a quite area here draws a number of customers too.

Part of the menu.

Types of noodles served here.

We started our meal with Kompiah as appetizer. Thin and crispy dough topped with sesame and filled with minced pork. It was served hot. Therefore it was quite good. You can eat it on its own or by dipping in the Kampung Koh Chili Sauce. Yea…Kampung Koh Chili Sauce is also a production of Setiawan.

You can browse here to see how kompiah is prepared → Kompiang and Mou Mou from Sitiawan, Perak

Here comes the signature dish and also my comfort dish.

Koufu Red Wine Noodle – RM10.90

Using mee suah as the noodle. The mee suah is very thin and smooth. Tasty red rice wine soup with pieces of chicken and 1/2 no. of hard boiled egg. The Fuzhounese would usually serve this during celebrations like birthday and Chinese New Year. Anyway….MIL’s mee suah is still the best. hehe….

Currently they are having a Grand Opening Promo. Buy 1 Free 1 Koufu Red Wine Noodle till 31st of July 2013….which is a good deal!

Fried Meat Dried Noodle – RM7.90.

For this konlou noodle (mee kicap), the noodle tasted fresh while the texture is chewy too. Topped with slices of fried pork, fried shallots and spring onions. I like the fried meat. It was tasty and juicy. However I felt that the noodle portion is abit small. hehe….

We ended our meal with this bowl of icy cold,

Koufu Tang Shui – RM4.90 (Small). Though we ordered the small one but the portion can shared among 2 person also. Unless you are very thirsty, then cannot lar…LOL! Contains 10 ingredients in this bowl of dessert. It was refreshing and not overly sweet. The taste sort of reminds me of ‘Lin Chee Kang’.

1000042_478914292190020_1067468957_nSo, if you miss Fuzhou cuisine too… do drop by Koufu Trendy Chinese Cuisine to give it a try. Overall I’m quite satisfied with the taste of the food I had there.

Remark: This restaurant has closed down. Thank you.

Breakfast @Restoran Melido 美丽都茶餐室, Seremban

I must admit that these days I hardly drive down town to explore food in Seremban. When working in Seremban, I usually bring my own lunch from home. Therefore I also don’t need to go out for lunch. On weekends…I often eat somewhere nearby or eat at home when mummy cooks. Why ar? Sometimes I also lazy to go out lar….Seremban is quite heavy traffic on weekends. But of course still can’t compare to KL. LOL! Its very different when you drive to Seremban town during the day and night. The town is like kinda deserted after 9pm.

All thanks to Ivy, of My Story for refreshing my memory about this place. I was reading her blog last week and noticed she wrote about what she had here at Restoran Melido 美丽都茶餐室, Seremban. I recalled this place! But forgotten what I had here before. LOL! *paiseh*

I got tempted to try the yong tau foo that she mentioned RM0.50/piece. Therefore I decided to come here for breakfast, last Saturday.

An old shop located near Pasar Besar Seremban. And if you are Serembanians…I’m sure you know where is the ‘old yellow bus stop’. This is where its located.

Very classic! Proud to see the younger generations (their children) helping their parent’s business.

Yong Tau Foo for RM0.50/piece. Really worth eating! Working non-stop on stuffing and frying them. Too bad the stuffed bittergourd was not available that day.

The fish cake was firm but not hard and nice. No strong fishy taste too. I also like the meatballs (mixture of pork+fish paste). Bouncy and tasty!

Mom had Mee Kicap with 3 pcs. of Yong Tau Foo for RM3.50.

Although the yong tau foo are priced RM0.50/piece…but the fish paste stuffing wasn’t stingy. Look at the stuffed beancurd.

I tried the Hakka Mee – RM3.80 from one of the stall there. It was alright. But agreed with what Ivy said, Tow Kee Hakka Mee is still my favorite pick.

I also ‘dapao’ a pack of Char Siew Rice (BBQ Pork Rice) – RM4.50 for my brother…

and also a pack of Siew Yuk Rice (Roast Pork Rice) – RM4.50 for my late lunch. Hehe….. The chili sauce wasn’t that good. But the rice was fragrantful and the meat were tasty and juicy!

Verdict : Food were served pretty quick. Although it may not be an air conditioned room…but who long as the food is good and affordable. Bring additional pack of tissue lo… :-p

Dinner @Korean BBQ San Nae Deul, Setiawalk Puchong

Bulgogi, Dak-Galbi, Samgyetang, Kimchi jigae, Bibimbap, Ramyeon, Gimbap, Pajeon, Ddeokbokki are the common dishes in Korean Cuisine. Which is your favorite one? My all time favorite is kimchi jigae! But this round I’m sacrificing kimchi jigae for something else. Worth the sacrifice??

Varieties of food offered at Setiawalk, Puchong. I decided to try the Korean cuisine here. The only Korean cuisine at the moment. – Korean BBQ San Nae Deul. If I’m not mistaken, they have several outlets in KL.

The interior. Cosy environment. The restaurant do provide private rooms. Maybe required reservation….on safer side lo…

Our sitting place.

Complimentary plain water for diners.

Grilled meat is something you must not miss when you dine in a Korean restaurant. So, we ordered Grilled Spicy Pork in Korean Spicy Sauce – RM35.

Another thing I like about Korean cuisine is the Banchan(side dishes)!! Look at the varieties of banchan here! *LIKE*

Hassle free. Just leave the grilling work to the staff. BTW….do you know why they put a piece of mushroom on that grilling pan ar?

meat was cut into smaller pieces for easy consumption.

Okay…now the meat are ready to makan. Although it stated ‘spicy’…but not spicy pun.

condiments for the grilled meat.

Fresh and green lettuce to eat together with the grilled meat.

This is how you eat them. A piece of lettuce, place rice over the lettuce, a piece of meat and some sauce made of fermented bean paste. The wrap it. It was quite yummy!

Dolsot Bibimbab (Mixed Rice with various vegetable in the stone pot)RM25 wasn’t satisfying. Lack of red pepper paste.

Samgyetang (Boiled chicken with ginseng)RM35

I sacrificed my kimchi jigae for this Samgyetang!! Unfortunately this samgyetang was very disappointed. Hardly taste any ginseng and the soup was quite bland. Moreover its incomparable to the samgyetang I had in Korea. I miss the one I had in Korea….huhuhu….

Overall; only satisfied with the Grilled Spicy Pork in Korean Spicy Sauce and banchan. Dolsot Bibimbab and Samgyetang are below average.

MIVVA Box June 2013 – Colourific

Its already month of July….so fast. But now only I’m reviewing about MIVVA Box June 2013. Blame it on the lazy bug lor….hehe….

This is my first purchase of beauty box from MIVVA. Most of the time I read positive reviews about their beauty box. When I received a newsletter from MIVVA on the sneak peek of this particular month’s content, I got tempted and I told myself I must get it! I knew its gonna be more make up products than skincare products.

When I received the parcel, I was excited to check out the content.

I like the mini black rose packaging. Looking chic and cute! Initially I got scared when I saw the color shade is so red. I’ve never use such red tone for my lip before. Surprisingly the outcome is not as bad as I thought. The color look natural on my lip. And it has a glossy finishes.
