An Engineer, a daughter, a mother to an adorable child who has passion in photography, food & travel. My photography covers food, people, landscape....whatever that caught my attention in just a click! I admired people who actually put effort in food arrangement before presenting it to guests. Presentation gives the first impression. I love to eat and also sharing it to my readers. I also love to travel. I meant who doesn't? Because that's the time when you are work free. LOL! You don't have to be rich to travel. A local trip is considered as traveling too. What matters most is the time. I am reachable at 'thammelissa@yahoo.com' Thanks for your visit!

Ever since the first gathering at Sin Wei’s house, all of us were looking forward for another gathering. Because all of them had fun & enjoyed the moment.

This round; Sin Wei & myself planned it and got agreement from the rest of them. Since; Sin Wei will be going for a holiday soon, therefore we decided to fix the date before it. All of us agreed to have steamboat. Where?? Where else if its not Sin Wei’s house wor…Her house will be ‘jui kai yan suen’ lor…

Both Sin Wei & hubby are so nice to prepare & buy the ingredients…(but I also got help buy abit lar…hehe) Ohh..yea..important thing is that Sin Wei boiled the soup with anchovies is so tasty wey!!! (no idea how many hours she boiled it). All of us enjoyed the meal again. Sin Wei even told me to dapao the soup home. Because there were still alot in the pot.

Lunch at FULLHOUSE

Before our house hunting in USJ on Sunday; I’ve managed to pujuk Alex to bring me to FULLHOUSE for lunch. The full name of it; is Fullhouse Lifestyle Store & Cafe. I’ve kept receiving comments like; the place is very nice, good ambiance, you can take alot of nice photos, price is fair, food is good too! How could you resist when you received so many good feedbacks on this place. There are a few branch in KL. The one I went is located in Sunway Pyramid. Kinda small. I was told that the one located in Jalan Yap Kwan Seng is much nicer. Better ambiance.

welcome…welcome…

browse through the lovely menu.

The menu is so cute. Really look like a children’s story book. We picked the set lunch. Comes in a set which includes a main dish, a mushroom soup, a glass of ice lemon tea & 1 small dessert.

the ice lemon tea. so big glass!!

the creamy mushroom soup. with some almond flakes sprinkled on it.

Alex enjoying the creamy mushroom soup

Alex’s choice. Chicken Ham & Mushroom Spaghetti. – yummy!!

Mel’s choice. Grilled chicken thighs in black pepper sauce.

The mashed potato is very smooth & nice. While the chicken meat is tender, goes well with the thick black pepper sauce.

the dessert. mini size cakes. fluffy….

Mel’s additional order. THE CHOCOLATE BROWNIE.

Comes with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. Too bad the ice cream melts so fast.

A MUST HAVE DESSERT!! You can taste the rich chocolate & walnuts on every bite.

Most important that its not too dry & hard.

check out the thick layer of chocolate  & rich walnuts.

Our total bill came up to be RM48

Took some photos before & after the meal.

frames hung on the wall. neatly done.

this part is so sweet & romantic

MEGA SALES has began!!!

This year’s (2010) ; the yearly Mega Sales starts from 24 July – 16 September 2010.

Normally you will have a higher chance to grab better stuff during the beginning part of it. Therefore; have you got something nice last week? Or perhaps; what have you shopped?

As for me during the 1st week of the sales; I just got a few items only. Clothes?? Nah…bought alot of online clothes recently……  😀

WISH EVERYONE HAPPY SHOPPING!!! 🙂

Wall Sticker

Recently; wall sticker has became a popular thing. I noticed many places are selling it.You may even find them sold on Facebook. But bear in mind; of cause there are different types of quality and pricing as well.

Last week I just bought some stickers from the night market. You will get shocked if I would to tell you the price is just RM2/ whole set. What makes me couldn’t resist buying it; was because of the price. I saw it somewhere else the price is 10x of this. Nevertheless; they are produced in different country. I suppose the quality is different too. The one I bought is made in China. The rather expensive one is made in Korea. I shall buy some expensive one the next round; to do the comparison myself.

bought 7 pieces

Used this design for kitchen. You must be really gentle when removing the sticker from the sheet. Because it is very thin.

Hokkien Mee at ‘Restoran Mei Yen’

Sent my brother back to his college on Sunday.

We decided to have our dinner near Taman Paramount. Dad told us there’s a popular & nice hokkien mee in that area. Therefore we decided to try, since mom loves hokkien mee alot. But because hokkien mee is very high in cholesterol; she seldom takes it now.

It was around 7pm. The restaurant was about 3/4 occupied with customers. Besides hokkien mee, there’s also ‘loh mee’, khau yuk mee hoon, wat tan hor, stir fry vege, LALAs, and Ohh Chien. By 8pm; more and more customers come in…and FULLed by then.

We ordered hokkien mee, khau yuk mee hoon, yau mak, Ohh Chien(oyster) & siong tong LaLa (LaLa in soup).

hokkien mee’s best companion. SAMBAL BELACAN… must have!

hokkien mee for 2 eaters

yum yum…. the noodles is wet enough & tasty. what’s inside? lard, sotong & choy sum

However Alex & Mom prefers the one from “Petaling Street”. Probably they prefered it to be dryer I guess. :-p

‘khau yuk mee hoon’…I like this very much actually. Its very tasty & not too dry.

yau mak

‘siong tong LALA’ (LALA in soup).

I like this soup very much too! Its best served on rainy days. The soup is warm, a lil taste of white wine, minced ginger & sprinkles of coriander leaves. Nevertheless, the clams size are acceptable too….aren’t those tiny little ones~~~

“Ohh Chien” (fried oysters in egg)

This is nice though. At least you can find the oysters easily….Don’t need to do any treasure hunt on it…You get what I meant? Moreover its not starchy. This plate cost RM8.

check out the oyster.

DISAPPOINTED…..

A disappointed Sunday…..

There was MAPEX Fair held in Midvalley Exhibition Hall on 16-18 July.

Therefore Alex & I decided to pay a visit to check out the fair, to see if there’s anything that we could scout on our house hunting. We reached there at around 12.30pm. We were really surprised and went “HUH!, so small hall only?? Never mind lor….walk walk and see what do they have.” Walked 1 round (within less than 1 hour); KAUTIM!

Disappointed! Its either the locations not suitable or the type of property not suitable. We preferred to get a landed ones. But all they have mostly are condominiums. Mostly are so high density summore. We wanted to look for Subang area. Unfortunately mostly are in Bangi, Klang, Shah Alam. 😦

Fine then; we gotto think of second plan since the fair doesn’t works.

La Senza sales started on the same week. I thought probably I can get some new inner wears. Disappointed again! The sales wasn’t attractive at all…*sigh* Walked out from the shop and went for a drink instead. After a drink at ‘sweet chat’, then I went over to ‘COTTON ON’. Wah….I’m very surprised to see the only ‘COTTON ON’ with not much crowd ler….. Unlike the one in PAVILION & SUNWAY PYRAMID! So crowded!!

Managed to grab something I like here…Hooray..a reward for myself for the day! (less sad jor).

At around 6pm we left the mall; planned to send my brother back to his college in PJ. Planned to go pasar malam near his staying place in Taman Paramount. Mana tau….it was raining!! 😦 😦 Another disappointment! Had our dinner in Taman Paramount. There’s a popular hokkien mee there. Gave it a try. (will be on next post). Luckily the rain stopped after our dinner. Hooray!! Though there’s so many disappointment; but it ends with something nice too….. 🙂

Chili Pan Mee @ Super Kitchen

I have been to longing to try this chili pan mee ever since I got tempted through the food program shown on television. But each time also couldn’t find a chance to get there. Finally; tried it on last 2 weekend. I was told that there are a few branch at different areas; Kuala Lumpur & SS2. The one I’m trying here is located in Taipan, USJ. (same row as CIMB Bank).

The business is doing good! By 8pm; you can see that the restaurant is already full.

Other than the famous chili pan mee; they also have all sorts of pan mee (dry version lar, soup version lar..) and other side orders as well.

the menu

herbal drink

‘kat jai suen mui’

the chili flakes

the ordinary pan mee(soup version) – NOT SO GOOD

ta dah!! the chili pan mee. comes with a bowl of soup

how you shall eat:-  if you can tahan spicy; add about 4 small spoons of chili flakes into the noodles. Break the egg yolk(the egg yolk is not 100% cooked), mix it well with the chili flakes, the noodles, the minced meat, the fried anchovies. Make sure the yolk is well coated on the noodles before consume.

this is the look of the noodles after stirring it all. If you feel that the noodles is too dry; you may add some soup. But to me its just fine; not too dry though.

I like it very much. Will find chance to eat again. 🙂

admiring the beautiful landscape…….

What will you do when you were to be seated on the passenger seat, while the driver will be doing the driving?? Will you be sleeping? Munching tit-bits? Read a novel? Chit-chatting? Did you ever admire the beautiful landscapes or scenery along your journey?

I used be sleeping if I’m on a long distance journey. But not now. Because I would like to accompany the driver (Alex) or else he might gets bored or felt sleepy. ^_^

Though he will be saying its ok larr….but I do understand that you will feel more alert if someone would be keeping you accompany. Therefore, what I will do now to keep myself awake or alert at the same time, I will try to capture the beautiful landscapes view from my car. At times, you may not be able to witness them from your house nor even from you office. Throughout the journey, you may witness the changes of clouds, changes of the sky color. So, why not “STOP & STARE”.

Here are some beautiful sky, landscapes that I manage to capture during my recent trip. 🙂

Lunch at “Ah Chong Seafood Restaurant”

Ah Chong Seafood Restaurant aka “Kantin Ah Chong” is located at Pantai Bersih of Butterworth.

Can you imagine that we were here after an hour break from our dim sum breakfast.

We are proven the great eater I suppose! After checking out from our lodging place in Sungai Petani, we drove there and reached at about 30 minutes later.

This restaurant has good view, because it is facing the sea. You can admire the beautiful sea view while enjoying your meal. As we came in a big group, therefore we sat on 2 separate tables. While the rest were busy ordering the food; lets have some photo shoot first. Common why want to waste the good scenes right

this shot was taken after we got our car parked here

Dim Sum at “Dai You Bin”

The following morning after Khong Hean’s wedding; all of us get ready by 10am and went for a light breakfast (kononya light, but from the photos you’ll see later, you will doubt that). This place was suggested by Daphne. Knowing me..for sure everything also feel like trying or order. Moreover went there with an empty stomach. :-p

I wasn’t quite sure whether is the popular ones or not. Judging from the amount of crowd in the restaurant it looks as though its good and popular. After trying it; I felt SO-SO only. Not every item is nice.

porridge with century egg and minced pork (this is good)

Hong Kong Chee Cheong Fun with char siew (nice!)

trays of dim sum

Har Kau (shrimp)

cantonese styled braised noodles (this is good!)

freshly bake egg tarts-selling fast (very nice)

malai kou (not so good)

the juicy char siew pau. serves warm & tasty

wu kok (yam with char siew filling) – not so good. the char siew has burned taste
