Dinner @ Sang Thai Seafood Restaurant, Langkawi

Eat Drink Laugh…. Another feast before we fly back to KL the following day. Yet another Thai Restaurant located in Kuah Town. Probably because Langkawi is located quite near to Thailand. Therefore they are quite influenced by their culture. This restaurant is located just next to Lgk Yummy Yummy Seafood Restaurant   which we had our dinner on the 1st night. Aparently Wonderland Seafood Restaurant which is well recommended also located on the same row. Unfortunately we did not have a chance to try, as it was closed during our visit.

Lookin through the menu, the prices are more or less the same as Lgk Yummy Yummy Seafood.

The well-lit restaurant with a bright signboard good to attracts attention.

Assorted Seafood. Order and get them cook the way u preferred (choose the cooking method from menu).

The unhappy crabs. “Hey…you better get your hands off me…grrrr..kiap kiap…kiap”

Quite crowded too…

Stir Fry Bean Sprout with Salted Fish – RM16 (L)

Started off with a not so nice dish. I would prefer if more salted fish were added in. Here I may need a magnifying glass to find the pieces of salted fish.

Belacan Kangkung – RM16 (L)

This was good. I like the belacan fragrant along with the vege.

Claypot Tofu – RM20 (L)

Prawn Salad in Spicy, Salty & Sour Taste – RM60

Wow…so many types of flavors in a plate of prawns. Must be surprising huh. Its more like the Thai Kerabu taste. I like it too. Moreover the prawns are quite big and fresh. No wonder it cost RM60 just for this. *eyes open widely*

Steamed Seabass in Teochew style – RM45 (price varies depending on type of fish and weight)

I like this fish gravy very much. I treated it like a soup. It has sourish taste from the plum & hotness from the julienne ginger.

Fried Balitung – RM20

Thai Style Chicken – RM20 (L)

Buffet Dinner @ Awana Porto Malai Langkawi

After spending some time at Pantai Cenang in the evening, we then headed to Awana Porto Malai Langkawi for sight seeing. This hotel certainly not strict to strangers getting into their premises. Unlike “The Datai Langkawi”, where we got questioned by the security guard before we could enter the resort. I wouldn’t blame them for the tight security. I suppose, its a luxury resort.

As I know, Awana Porto Malai Langkawi has many Yachts parked around its sea. That would make it a nice sea scenery to me.  Ooppss….I wouldn’t say sea, it should be Lagoon. Anyway, a couple of nice shots would be prefect for me. A quiet and cosy resort too. Apart from enjoying the nice view, we decided to have our dinner there at Boardwalk Cafe.

Too bad..ain’t any sunset shots here.. Perhaps, I need should a night here and wake up much earlier to view the sun rise.

The night view. The tall white tower is the light house.

Dinner @ Lgk Yummy Yummy Seafood, Langkawi

We were in Langkawi for 3 nights. We put up in a budget hotel  named AZIO located in Kuah Town, Langkawi. Though its a budget hotel, it looks entirely new and most important it is clean. With just RM98/ night, what can you expect more.

Upon checking in to our respective rooms and had a quick bath, it was already 8pm. Everyone of us got so hungry by then. (like a tiger) Wouldn’t want to waste time searching for good food; therefore we asked the hotel staff for recommendation. (yea…blame me for being lazy to do homework). The hotel staff suggested this place, Lgk Yummy Yummy Seafood. Which is just about 10 minutes drive from our hotel.

It was quite crowded. So, I assume the food must be good!

Egg with Vege – RM13 (taste normal)

Kailan with Salted Fish – RM15

Sambal Kangkung – RM15

Dried Chili  Clams – RM25 (thumbs up!)

Sambal Paste Squid – RM25

Black Pepper Venison – RM30 (thumbs up!)

Salted Egg Prawn – RM38 (recommended)

I love this dish very much. Not only the prawns are fresh, it taste good too. The salted eggs are well coated on each prawn.

Seabass Steamed with Thai Style Soup – RM40 (price varies depending on type of fish and weight)

Another good dish of the night. I assumed this may be their signature fish. Noticed that almost every table had this served on their table. Anyway, it does taste good! Especially the soup/ gravy. Sour and Spicy. *just couldn’t resist*

served with the burning coal to maintain the heat.

Initially we wanted to order some crabs. After looking at the price, we felt that its kinda overpriced – RM60/kg. Moreover the crabs that night, were pretty small.

(NOTE : All the dish above are served for 9 person)

Food : 4/5 (pork free) ~ (everyone had a wide smile on their face)

Service : 4/5

Ambiance : 3/5

Price : Affordable (depending on what you order. cross check the price list before confirming your order.)

Dinner @ Jade Dragon Restaurant (Dai Cheong Kam)

I like Korean food. However, in Seremban it is quite limited choice. Unlike in KL, you can easily get one. This restaurant operates by a Korean family and has been operating for several years. Unfortunately this was my first time trying their food. Previously, Baby Sumo did recommend this place to me. Finally I got the chance to try it myself after the suggestion was made by my sister and brother in law.

I recalled; each time I pass by this restaurant, it looks so quiet as if the business were not good and that they were not receiving much customers. Therefore I may have doubts on it. Until last Sunday, after I had my dinner there, my perception has changed! To my surprise, the food is good and it even taste better than SIL RO AM. Perhaps; I would say the best Korean food in Seremban.

It is located at Oakland. This street is rather quiet in the evening.

We sat at the section behind this partition. More privacy I suppose..

Ban chan (side dishes).

This is what I love most about Korean food. The varieties of Ban chan. The boss was kind enough to place 2 sets of ‘ban chan’ because there were 6 of us and we sat on a long table.

a bowl of rice at RM3 each. This is not our local white rice. Its Korean rice.

Gochujang Bul-Go-Gi (Spicy Marinated Pork) – RM25

Dae-Ji Bul Go-Gi (Marinated Pork) – RM25

This is the purpose of them serving lettuce along with the grilled meat. Place a small amount of rice, a piece of meat, the sauce and wrap/roll it.

Sliced Pork – RM25

All the pork dishes above are yummy! Moreover they will do all the works (grilling) for you.

Pah Jean(pancake) – RM25

My first encounter on the pancake. It taste good after you dip in the sauce given. Otherwise it taste quite bland.

Hae Mul Tang(small)(Seafood Steamboat) – RM70

The best dish of the meal! Soup itself is tasty and spicy. A mouth watering dish and appetizing as well. Contains generous amount of seafood too. -1 whole crab, 1 big piece of octopus, mussels, clams, prawns, tofu and bean sprout.

Perhaps a closer look…

Though ‘small’ size portion, but is enough for 6 person too.

Lunch @ Pappa Rich

Pappa Roti, I’ve heard of it – the coffee flavor bun. But Pappa Rich kopitiam…are they owned by the same person?? Not too sure bout it.

However, this chained kopitiam has opened another outlet at The Gardens Mall. Another good choice for the customers to dine with an affordable price other than the food court. A whole long list of menu you may refer:- MENU

Bear in mind, this kopitiam is often crowded too.

I was there with my mom & friends.

Chicken Rice with Bean Sprout – RM10.90

(Flavorful rice cooked in chicken stock served with steamed chicken, bean sprout & fresh chili sauce) – The steamed chicken and bean sprout are good. Unfortunately, the rice and chili sauce, I think my mom cooks better! ^^

Ipoh Koay Teow Soup with Steamed Chicken – RM10.90

(Fresh flat rice noodles in clear chicken stock soup garnished with chives and spring onions; accompanied by a plate of steamed chicken served on a bed of lettuce, sliced cucumber and tomato) – I like that they separated the noodles and the chicken. This way, the soup wouldn’t be very oily. Taste wise, erm…moderate.

Pappa Prawn Mee – RM9.90

(Yellow noodles/ MeeHoon boiled in chicken soup served with fresh prawns, boiled egg, bean sprout and kangkung) – This prawn noodle taste very bland. Not so nice.

Dry Curry Koay Teow with Curry Chicken & Foo Chok – RM10.90

(Flat rice noodles blanched and topped with chicken curry, foo chok & bean sprout) – This is yummy! If only extra curry would to be added, it will taste even better.

Steamed Home Made Fish Otak-otak – RM5.80

(Fragrant and spicy fish mousse gently steam-cooked to perfection) – Quite nice.

Soya Milk Cincau with Gula Melaka – RM6.50 (a nice drink indeed!)

This was suppose to be meant as “Soya Milk with Sesame seed Ice Cream”. However my friend requested to separate it. Kesian the drink…has to go in separate ways 😦

The soya milk taste very pure and not too sweet. Same goes to the sesame seed ice cream. Smooth too.

**based on my past experience; the ‘nasi lemak’ and ‘curry mee’ are good!**

“STICKY” Candy

Sticky, the traditional hand made candy is now in KL. Its Austrialia’s finest confectioners. I love the uniqueness of the candies when we refers  it to the flavors and the pretty colors. Its difficult to resist.

They are currently located at One Utama and Pavilion.

Its always crowded.

The high quality, rock candy style lollies are hand made.

Below, are the steps on how the candies were produced.

Looking from the way of shaping, I think they are doing lemon or may be orange flavor.

the final result before cutting into pieces

1 person will be rolling, while the other person will be doing the pulling and cutting. From so fat , turned into thin long strips. VERY IMPRESSIVE!! Surely not easy huh…alot of strength needed. **can show you muscle ma??**

before cutting them into Beautiful, Precious and Fun Stones.

They have assorted flavors and designs too.

Besides that, they do offers personalized candy, exquisite bonbonniere, wedding candy & lollies (for marketing, events, corporate promotions, marketing, wedding), promotional candy, sugar sculpture, candy art & candy with names, words, or logos.

I, myself bought 1 bottle….hehe…

Pizza Hut “WOW SAVERS 50% DISCOUNT”

Pizza Hut is currently having the promotion of “WOW SAVERS 50% DISCOUNT” applicable only on weekdays. When it says 50%, it does sounds quite worth. I can have a meal while enjoy the saving of 50% off the price. However of cause they aren’t stupid to offer everything from the menu with 50% discount. Only selected ones which varies each day from Monday to Friday.

Here are the selected ones. One person is only entitle to order 1 item.

It was quite sometime I did not have a meal at Pizza Hut. I’m going to make use this opportunity.

I love pastas. Therefore I chose to go on Friday. Check out the slashed price from RM10.50 to RM5.25. Cheap right?? You may take a closer look on the “Creamy Carbonara” photo shown above and the real piece I’m having it here. **spot the difference game**

This is the real plate of “Creamy Carbonara” . Sorry to say, the taste is lousy…. And the bread-stick is missing from the plate too!!! Could it be fall somewhere while serving it?? =_=

A bowl of salad we ordered – RM5.50

I love to have alot of thousand island dressing on my salad. Unfortunately their vege started to turn yellowish. Which means not fresh already right??

Triple Platter – RM18.90 (add-on)

Honey BBQ Wings, Masala Spin Roll and Criss-Cut Fries served with cool lime mayo sauce.

The entire meal we had, only the “Triple Platter” was good! *bad bad*

Dinner @ Ichiban Boshi, Pavilion

Was waiting for Alex to fetch me after his work. Was still at Pavilion though. Being lazy to drive elsewhere; therefore without any doubts we had our dinner at Pavilion. Decisions were hardly made. I was too tired to think. Despite I handed all the decisions to Alex. Yet he still asking “what cuisine would you prefer?” Japanese ke? Chinese ke? Western ke? Arghhh….I’m blank darling. Please help me decide. Finally Alex made this; Ichiban Boshi as his choice.

KL really do has ample of Japanese Restaurants Perhaps I really do need alot of time to try most of it. Speaking of Ichiban Boshi; I felt that its quite similar to Sushi Zanmai. There’s another outlet too, located at Sunway Giza. Ohh ya…the main similarity to Sushi Zanmai is, often sees crowded!!!

Bright and cosy.

Alex concentrating on the menu

The usual display. Wasabi & pickled ginger.

I usually prefers to sit the area with kaiten belt, strolling all the sushis.

Sushi from the kaiten belt are priced at RM 2 (beige plate), RM 4 (red plate) and RM 6 (brown plate).

We ordered some ala-carte dish from the menu. Before the food arrives; we picked some sushi from kaiten belt which look pretty attractive!

half portion(mini) curry udon – RM10.90

Good portion, best suits small eater. The curry taste good too! Ain’t too spicy though.

Chicken Suki Gozen – RM19.90

(a complete meal with an affordable price)

a pot of delicious soup with mushrooms & tofu. Unfortunately it took ages to boil. The chicken fillets yet to cook, but it has ran out of flame. Therefore kena request the waiter to re-lit the flame.

The Cream & Fudge Factory

We do love eating. Especially when it comes to ice creams. Well, who doesn’t?

The Cream & Fudge Factory reminds me of COLDSTONE we had it during our trip to Taiwan. Love every single bite of it. Till today, I am still looking for a similar ones here in Malaysia. Duhh….wonder why don’t they have a branch here. *sigh..

However “The Cream & Fudge Factory” has expanded its business to Thailand, India, Indonesia, Oman, Vietnam and now to Malaysia. In KL, they already have it in 3 locations; Pavilion, KLCC & Alamanda Putrajaya.

I discovered this place after I read it from a food blogger.

About The Cream & Fudge Factory

The Cream & Fudge Factory is an international, smooth and creamy ice cream brand where customers select their favorite flavors of ice-cream which is then hand folded together with the customer’s choice of mix-in of nuts, fruits, candies and fudge on a frozen marble slab. In addition to allowing customers to create their own ice cream combinations, The Cream & Fudge Factory offers exclusive and innovative creations made at the stores to cater to virtually any customer’s taste.

the work place

in process of blending the flavors & toppings for our Chocolate Truffle Sensation.

3 different flavors we ordered.

*snap snap snap* voices heard at the background; “Mel, faster lahh…the ice cream is melting!”

Strawberry Shortcake – RM12.90

French vanilla ice cream, strawberry pie filling, vanilla sponge cake, caramel fudge.

Chocolate Truffle Sensation – RM12.90

Chocolate ice cream, cookie dough ice cream, ferrero rocher chocolates, hazelnuts.

Oreo Peanut Butter – RM12.90

Peanut Butter ice cream, roasted almonds, oreo cookies, chocolate fudge.

Each of it, has its uniqueness in flavor. Unfortunately still incomparable with COLDSTONE*. Anyhow I still like it lahh…But Ashley prefers New Zealand’s Natural…

Yeah….a toast to our friendship!!

Something naughty that we did to the menu. Its actually a frame for the menu. It was Ashley’s idea (—–> point to Ash) Anyway; it looks nice after I made it into a collage!

Lunch @ Wong Kok Char Chan Teng

Since Wanyi has returned to Malaysia, therefore on Saturday we decided to go for our usual stock ups for The M.A.W.

Later ; Mel, Ashley & Wanyi….the 3 of us suggested to go Pavilion for our lunch. We then went to Wong Kok Char Chan Teng which is located at 6th Floor. Well; it was my suggestion on the restaurant. Merely just because it has a good ambiance, I felt so. Was it a wise choice huh, ladies??

I wonder….. @_@

Wong Kok Char Chan Teng (Hong Kong Restaurant) serving Hong Kong cuisines. No longer a stranger to us. This chained restaurant has been operating in Malaysia for several years.

The wide range menu of fusion food looks pretty attractive with an affordable price too.

a mini menu is placed on each table conveniently for you to tick your orders

Lemon Coke – RM4.50 (nothing to shout about)

Apple Juice – RM4.50 (nothing to shout about)

Almond Tea – RM3.90  (nothing to shout about)

Ginger Lime Tea – RM5.50

You must be surprised how come 3 gals having 4 drinks right?? I almost forgotten that Ashley’s friend, Deniece came by join us for a drink. Nice meeting you Deniece 😉

Spicy Spaghetti with Seafood – RM12.50

SO SO only. Felt that the pepper has overpowered the spaghetti and too much gravy too.

XO Sauce Fried Rice – RM10.20

The rice taste good. However Ashley commented that the prawns were alil hard. Over cooked perhaps??

Hot & Spicy Soup Hand Made Noodle (with BBQ pork, char siew) – RM14.80

This is good. I personally love the flavor of the spicy soup. And the best part would be the char siew. The meat is tender and tasty.

Ashley; the belated birthday gal. We surely won’t miss your birthday one!! Hiakkss….
