An Engineer, a daughter, a mother to an adorable child who has passion in photography, food & travel. My photography covers food, people, landscape....whatever that caught my attention in just a click! I admired people who actually put effort in food arrangement before presenting it to guests. Presentation gives the first impression. I love to eat and also sharing it to my readers. I also love to travel. I meant who doesn't? Because that's the time when you are work free. LOL! You don't have to be rich to travel. A local trip is considered as traveling too. What matters most is the time. I am reachable at 'thammelissa@yahoo.com' Thanks for your visit!

An Early Christmas Celebration….@ Pho Co Seremban

Jingle Bells…Jingle Bells….

Christmas is just around the corner. We have planned an early Christmas celebration cum Christmas gifts exchange.

RED & WHITE!

Sin Wei suggested a theme. We shall all dress in either red or white color.

“I will come in RED lar”; I told Sin Wei.

The present ones were Sin Wei, Joanne, Tracy, Kristy, Siew Yen & myself.

Apparently; there’s a newly opened(few months ago) Vietnamese Restaurant in Oakland. They served Vietnamese cuisine and steamboat. Therefore Tracy suggested to try their steamboat.

Given a sheet of rice paper. Place the ingredients(mee hoon, sliced meat, lettuce, carrot, bean sprout)  in the middle. Add some sauce.

Roll it as above.

We ordered the steamboat meal for 3 person. RM18/ person.

The steamboat portion is big. Enough for 6 of us.

The steamboat consist of sliced chicken, pork balls, sliced fish meat, cuttlefish, enoki mushroom, prawns, crabstick, taufu, cabbage, taufupok.

and also mee hoon & eggs.

The soup base is very tasty. It has slices of starfruit.

Boil it in the soup base.

The shop owner was so kind to help us to take a group photo ^^

RED & WHITE!!!

After the meal; we are all set for the gifts exchange. Wrote our names on the paper. Then each of us draw our gift.

Dinner@Empayar Seremban Siew Pow

Seremban is famous for its siew pow (bun with bbq pork/ chicken baked till golden brown). We are now at Empayar Seremban Siew Pow; the main branch of siew pao. Not only selling siew pow but also assorted local products. Their siew pow is well established for many years.

The siew pow and other bakeries (egg tarts, pineapple tarts, salted egg cookies, kaya kok & etc) are baked freshly everyday. Sold out fast too…especially during holidays. You may expect alot of tourists there too. Besides the siew pow, their egg tarts also is a must try item!

You may refer here for the list of products:- PRODUCTS

A huge signboard which is visible along the North South Highway.

Assorted local products

I bought 10 pieces of siew pow. Each priced at RM1.30

Too bad the content wasn’t as generous as before.

Apart from that; it does served as restaurant. Particularly on Seafood. The fishes, crabs & prawns are fresh too. What I meant fresh is that; its still alive before its cooked.

Kirin Ebi (A type of prawn reared in deep ocean and specially processed using advanced technology).

I couldn’t really differentiate the difference, but kirin ebi’s shell is much harder and the size is slim & long in shaped.

Alex and I couldn’t figure out what to order. Therefore we went ahead with their recommendation.

Sang Min with Kirin Ebi (Yee Mee in Cantonese Style) – RM15

Hakka Char Yoke (客家炸肉)  (Fried pork in Nam Yue) – RM20

Crabs cooked with salted egg – RM45/kg

We enjoyed eating the crabs. Tasty and fresh. Overall the food that we ordered were good! But I felt the price is slightly expensive.

I cooked “tong yuen & sweet potato tong sui”

I got the idea of cooking this tong sui/dessert after I tried it from ‘tim pan kor kor’; a dessert shop in Subang.

It looks pretty simple. All you need is just a packet of tong yuen (glutinuos rice ball) which can be purchased from the supermarket (I’m lazy ma…so I just buy it from the supermarket. Moreover I do not know how to make the one with black sesame content lerr…. ^^), 1 number of sweet potato(your desired size), gula melaka and ginger.

ingredients as above

cut the whole sweet potato into cubes

METHOD:

  • Boil a pot of water
  • Put in the ginger (approximate 4cm, sliced it)
  • Add in gula melaka (you may also substitute it with normal sugar)
  • When the water is boiling; add in the sweet potatoes.
  • Cook till the sweet potatoes is soft enough.

  • As for the ‘tong yuen’; boil separately in another pot of boiling water. When the tong yuen are floating above…means its cooked. You can now scoop them up.

The final result!

Dinner@Sushi Zanmai

Last Saturday I was at Sunway Pyramid. Thinking of what should I have for dinner. First thing that came across my mind was “Sushi Zanmai”. I’ve tried the food there 3 times at the same place. So far; it does not disappoint me. Honestly this is much better than Sushi King.

Unfortunately a friend of mine whom dine at Sushi Zanmai of The Garden Mall; left her with bad impression. She had a bad experienced. Dirty cutlery; poor presentation on food.

Bear in mind; please be prepared for the queue. Expected duration at least 15 minutes to be seated.

At the entrance

They claimed it as “The genuine conveyor-belt sushi Restaurant”.

Sauces & Wasabi

An adequate amount of wasabi & sauce

Pickled Ginger

A cup of green tea

The workplace for assorted sushi.

The sushi are priced according to the color of the plates.

Blue = RM2.80

Pink = RM3.80

The eye-catching conveyor belt with assorted sushi. They constantly refill the conveyor belt. Don’t seem to have any empty slots. Of course not every sushi is displayed. You may order them from the menu, and they will serve it.

Tamago sushi.

Inari Kanimayo Yaki – Crabmeat with mayonnaise

Please forgive me for not knowing the name. However it is recommended. Fresh Sliced salmon wrapping the rice along with seaweed sheet.

UNIQLO, I came…..

UNIQLO has arrived in Malaysia nearly a month.

2 weeks ago…I realized that I still have some left over RM20 vouchers which will be expiring soon(validity of 1 month). I do have more of them. Unfortunately I hardly got the chance to go there…therefore many are thrown away lor…My friend, Ashley did fully utilized the vouchers. I said to her; “If I were to be in KL, I’m sure to use up all of the vouchers  I had” . She answered; “If you are in KL, I forsee you will be going there almost every day. LOL!!

Therefore; on the same weekend; I decided take a trip there and use up the vouchers before its expired.

The crowd is no longer that much as compared to the 1st week. You can now shop comfortably. Apart from that, do not get annoyed by the greets from every staff “WELCOME TO UNIQLO” at almost every corner. Because that’s the method of them serving their customers.

Denim short skirt with promo price of RM49.90. I bought it at RM29.90 discounted from RM20 voucher.

Women’s Flannel with promo price of RM79.90. I bought it at RM59.90 discounted from RM20 voucher.

Magnolia’s Sherbet

Magnolia is a well known brand for its ice cream in Malaysia.

Magnolia has introduced a new line of products; “SHERBET”.

Sherbet, an American term for a frozen dessert like sorbet, but containing a small amount of dairy.

I was doing some grocery shopping with my mom, where then I came across these new products at the supermarket’s freezer. Being the curious me….I bought all 4 flavors and try them all. Each of it priced at RM2.50.

All 4 flavors. From left; lychee, mangosteen, melon & orange.

From left; lychee, mangosteen, melon & orange.

In fact, all 4 flavors are very nice. Very refreshing and fruity taste. But if to pick the best out of 4, I would say the ‘mangosteen’.

Stay Fit, Stay Healthy with NESTLE FITNESSE

The idea of “Stay Fit, Stay Healthy with NESTLE FITNESSE” is that I know I’ve gained weight. YES! For the past 1 year, I know I’ve added some kilos to my weight. Therefore…the summary is that I wan to keep fit aka ‘kam fei’ arrr….

7 out of 10 married women will certainly agreed that they’ve gained weight after married. Why is that?? Is there any proven facts? Or its just a psychological  thoughts? But it does occurred on me wor…..

Does that mean that I’m happily married therefore I gained weight? Aduhhhh…..

Its time to buck up man!!!

Since I’m watching the Asia Biggest Loser aired on Astro Diva on every Tuesday; this “NESTLE FITNESSE” is used as their daily dietary. Its cereal made with whole grain. Moreover its the low fat whole wheat cereal.  Yea…the main keyword; “LOW FAT”. Therefore I pun bersemangat to grab a box from the supermarket shelf. (at price of RM12+ per box of 400g).

Perhaps; you can take a tour at the webbie for some workouts & FAQ:-

For the nutritional fact; *click here*

It has 3 flavors (original, fruit & honey + almonds)

daily diet plan printed on the box.

I chose to eat with milk…so that it won’t be dry.

Okie…lets see how it goes. Hope I can cope with it for at least 3 days weekly??

Sesi percubaan 1st ok…hehehe….

Dinner @The Manhattan Fish Market

The last gathering we had was on September. 1st and 2nd gathering; we held it at Sin Wei’s house. Therefore this time we changed the venue. Sin Wei & I suggested the same location. JUSCO SEREMBAN!! Hahah..since that’s the place which is near to everyone of us.

Good thing must share share…So I suppose its an educational chat.  ^^

Sis suggested to buy a cake from “The Bakers” (just 1 floor below). Too bad..there aren’t any whole cake that time (12.30pm). However they are so nice to tell my sis to please wait for 1+ hour, they will bake the cake immediately. Since we are dining just upstairs; no harm for us to wait for an hour plus. At about 1.30pm the waiter brought the cake & candles to our table. Mom got surprised!! I guess she’s feeling happy as well  ^^

All of us likes the cake very much(Black & White Chocolate Mousse). Its freshly bake you know…  hahahah…
