Pimp your kicks from KUMO by Leng Yein

I’ve been keeping track on Leng Yein’s FB updates. (am just a silent reader but not a stalker ^^) Knew about her ups and downs. Well…it doesn’t matter anyway…I know she is hardworking and strong. She now spent most of her money onto her new branding, which she was aiming and planned earlier.

KUMO by Leng Yein, located at Tokyo Street of Pavilion KL. Opened for business since April 2012. When I knew about it, I dragged my GFs to pay a visit. hehe….

Apparently KUMO is selling varieties of cool and funky shoe accessories for people who love to create a ‘new look’ for their shoes.

The Interior (By the way…I like the vibrant colors of the paper bags!)

Adorable Poppies price starts from RM18

Cool Wings are price at RM150/ pair

Okie…I started off with something simple 1st. In future will purchase more so that my shoes can ‘make up’ abit. ^^

Ashley trying out the “Hello Kitty” frames. Haha….so cute lahh…She was forced to use this photo as her FB profile picture. *nice wat…

Varieties of “Hello Kitty” frames. Price starts from RM35.

My fuchsia color ribbon poppie for RM18. Does it resemble Hello Kitty??

Pimp your kicks from KUMO by Leng Yein. So, what do you think? Matches my shoe or not?

Lunch @ Delicious, Mid Valley Megamall

Often heard about this place. Used to passed by this place. But have not tried their food. When I meet up with both my UNI buddies, Sheima and Susan at Midvalley…Sheima then suggested this place, Delicious..a chain store.

I thought it would be a…good idea!

At Delicious, you may choose to dine indoor or outdoor. Outdoor look more spacious to us, so we decided outdoor. This place seems cozy.

The bright exterior creates beautiful and contrast outcome. I like the way they furnished their restaurant.

Makcit Sheima and her handsome son, Afy reading the ‘no photos attached’ menu.  Sheima and I often call each other ‘Makcit’. Because we both are so ‘auntie’. LOL

Their menu is so simple! Just names and prices.

Aglio Olio Spaghettini + Add Seafood = RM24.80

Something light and simple. Prawns were fresh and crunchy. However squids were …hhmmm…’rubbery’! Not recommended.

Napolicious a Creamy Tomato based Spaghettini with Beef Bacon Chicken StripsRM20.90

Rich in tomato gravy. Serving was quite big too.

Classic Beef Lasagne – RM20.90

Rich flavors, very cheesy and meaty!

Fish & Chips (from Kids Menu) served with Carrot and Cucumber Sticks RM12.90

Crispy Fried Mushroom – RM13.90

I was tempted by the long list desserts printed on the menu. Hardly decide one. If only I could order more. Unfortunately, a wrong choice was made! *sigh.

Berrilicious Chocolate Pavlova – RM13.90  Not recommended.

Appearance can deceive. Looks pretty..but tasted below average.  All I could taste was just the rocky, thick and airy meringue topped with thick cream.  Moreover strawberries are so sour =_=

Both Sheima and Susan are my good friends during UNI days. We took the same course, went to class together, joke together. Moreover Sheima was also my roommate. Both of them are now blessed with 2 kids. Had a great time with them. It was nice to hear from them. Knowing that they are now doing well. Though we hardly meet or talk these days…but we still put an effort to meet. Well its the heart that counts.

Afy is so leng cai…Ya..obviously he knew the camera was onto him =p

Food : 6/10 (good presentation..but some food are just average)

Dinner @1919 Restaurant & Gallery, KL

Filled my day with outings and food.

First half of the day, gathered with my gfs.

Then the other half of the day, gathered with UNI friends.

Live Life to the Fullest

Located in the busy city of Kuala Lumpur, Jamie recommended us to this place – Restaurant 1919, for dinner.

Restaurant 1919 occupying this bungalow unit along the busy road. Its newly open here in KL. I googled for Restaurant 1919 and discovered that its originally  from Ipoh, existed years ago.

The Interior. How do you like about their arrangement of tables and chairs.

It was a rainy evening. I then settled myself on their rattan sofa. While waiting for my friends to arrive, I was served with hot tea.

*good hospitality*

*Alex pura-pura reading travel magazine* =p

Jamie made a reservation and this was where all 16 of us sat.

Really tough huh?? Had a hard time selecting the food. Can’t decide? Get some recommendation from their waiter.

Deep Fried Eggplant – RM11.90 (S)

A good choice of appetizer. Deep fried eggplant or the locals usually call it ‘brinjal’. Its like a concoction between tempura and french fries. *crispy*

Stir-Fry Spinach with Garlic – RM12.90 (S)

Salted Egg Chicken – RM37.90 (L)

The deep fried chicken coated with salted egg was so good. The outer part is so crispy and has an equal coating of salted egg yolk on each piece of chicken.

Mango Kerabu – RM18.90 (S)

This Mango kerabu serving is quite special. It comes in a deep fried yam ring. The mango is crunchy but not too sour. I would say its an appetizing dish. Moreover the yam is well mashed before its deep fried till golden brown.

Indonesian Style Spicy Prawns – RM73.80 (S) seasonal price

Another well recommended dish. The prawns that we gotten here are so fresh and succulent. A lil spicy, Indonesian style of cooking method …not just prawns but were cooked together with some lady’s fingers.

1919 Tofu – RM23.90

You may mistakenly interpret this as steam egg. Because their tofu or beancurd is so smooth. Cooked in light braised sauce.

Free Shanghai Pancake from 1919

A group photo of us at 1919

We then continued with ‘yum cha’ session at Overtime, Jalan Genting Klang =p And I returned home at 2am looking just like zombie. =_=

That’s all….my call it a day!

Food : The food may look simple..but they all tasted good. Quite close to home-cooked food.

Ambiance : 8/10

Price : 6/10

I found this deal, and I thought it would be a good chance for you to try the food here.

75% OFF King Sauce Chicken with Onion + Indonesian Style Squid + Seaweed Soup for 2. Pay RM 12.95 instead of RM 26 per person!

Moo Cow Frozen Yogurt again…..

Having the same thought…..

All 3 of us agreed to  Moo Cow Frozen Yogurt for our tea break.

just like this tagline…we are the happy customer with great satisfaction!

These was during month of February. And the seasonal flavor on that particular month was Belgium Chocolate & Strawberry. I’ve tried both flavors days earlier. (both were good) Therefore this round…we decided to go for ORI flavor. The original yogurt flavor with 1 topping (RM9.90). PEACH for myself. BLUEBERRY for Ashley. OREO for Wanyi. Look at the generous amount of topping we were given.

3 beautiful cups of Frozen Yogurt in-line for their photoshoot! ^^

The barn like design is nice to have some lovely shots.

Irene, the owl was guarding the cups of frozen yogurt.

Irene is still eyeing on the Froyo. Hmm…probably she likes Peach topping.

Then, Maria the ‘meh meh’ sheep was tempted to have some too.

No choice…Ashley has to feed the old owl…..

Yeah…we  Moo Cow!!

Lunch @ Zouk Cafe Bar, The Gardens Mall

Its a new place to us. Though we walked passed this place several times. Then an opportunity came. The discounted deal. We thought this could be a good chance for us to try the food here.

With groupon’s deal of just RM19… What am I getting here?

Zouk Cafe Bar Burger or Spaghetti Bolognese + Free Flow Soft Drink.

We are the Burger Aunties Ladies!! All 3 of us chose burger instead of pasta :-p

 The modern yet sophisticated design gave me the urge to try the food.

We made ourselves comfortable. The environment plus the ambiance here is good. Nice place to catch up with friends. Erm…but not a romantic place lar…

 Good hospitality during our visit. Our drinks were refilled constantly without any reminder. **and that ‘somebody’ was so thirsty lo…**

 I’ve read some blogs mentioned that the service here is VERY SLOW & Inefficient. However during our visit, it was fine. Food served pretty quick and quite efficient too.

Assorted cakes are served here. Hope to return for their cakes ^^

Wanyi’s choice of Beef Burger

Zouk Cafe Bar Burger served together with coleslaw and french fries. Looks good…too bad, the beef patty was quite dry.

Ashley and I chose Chicken Burger. Apart from the french fries and coleslaw…the burger was so so only.  I felt the lack of juiciness on the meat patties.

 The collapsing burger tower.

 Ashley had a tough time handling the ‘tower’.

 We thought it wouldn’t be enough….so, we ordered an additional plate of Fish Fingers from the menu for RM15++. The fried fish fingers were good. Crispy batter and not too oily.

The potential Zouk Ambassador??? LMAO!!

Lunch @ Overtime Bar & Restaurant, Seremban

Honey…I’ll be home late, today..OVERTIME.

Definition of ‘Overtime’

-working time  before or after one’s regularly scheduled working hours; extra working time.

Today, the understanding of ‘Overtime’ is different.

Here, I’m referring to Overtime Bar & Restaurant. Its nothing related to work. Hence Overtime has became a popular hangout place. There are so many outlets in Klang Valley.

Overtime is known for their very own STARKER fresh beer. Starker fresh beer is made especially for Malaysian to have a taste of fresh beer that is rare especially in the Malaysian market. The taste palate of starker fresh beer is formulated to suit the lifestyle and eating habits of Malaysian to go well with most of Malaysia’s local cuisine.

Well…good news to Seremban folks. Overtime is now in Seremban. Open its door for business since end of year 2011.

The Interior.

Well..if you are here at night, you’ll be entertain with live band too.

During Chinese New Year break, me and my high school friends decided to meet at Overtime…(a new place for us here). Though everyone is busy all the time…we hardly meet. But we will usually try our best to at least meet during CNY.

We were there at 12pm(opening time). And they were having the promo of (buy 1 free 1 pint) from 12-7pm daily. Here I chose ‘Aromatic’. Golden yellow in appearance, a medium bodied beer with fresh fruity hints and herbal aroma. Malty-sweet in taste with apparent citrus notes, leading to a refreshingly clean and crisp after-taste.

Not bad…the taste wasn’t too strong and its smooth. For 1st timer…you may choose this.

Let’s see what we’ve ordered.

Sang Har Yi Mien – RM28

Crispy noodles soaked in flavorful sauce.

The gravy was just average while the prawn was not fresh.  =_=

Duck Alfredo – RM19

Fettuccine Pasta tossed in traditional Alfredo sauce with Parmesan cheese and topped with sliced smoked duck.

The smoked duck itself tasted quite well. While for pasta…*sigh* so bland!!

Crispy Pork Knuckle – RM52

Pork knuckle marinated in chef’s secret and deep fried until the skin is crisp.

(RECOMMENDED!) This is the best among the other 2 above. The skin is indeed crispy. While the meat is tender and not overcooked. Moreover the portion was BIG!

~~~~~~till me we meet again….
Moo Cow Frozen Yogurt, The Gardens Mall
Old MacDonald had a farm, EE-I-EE-I-O.
And on that farm he had a cow, EE-I-EE-I-O.
With a moo moo here and a moo moo there
Here a moo, there a moo, everywhere a moo moo
Old MacDonald had a farm, EE-I-EE-I-O………
I’m singing to this nursery rhyme……
Moo Cow reminds me of this nursery rhyme…..
Frozen yogurt became popular in KL.  Frozen yogurt usually consists of milk solids, some kind of sweetener, milk fat, yogurt culture, coloring, and flavoring. Hence its lesser calories compared to ice cream. Moo Cow Frozen Yogurt is a new brand in Malaysia, began to expand its business over shopping malls.
Ashley and Wanyi been telling me how good it is….
Therefore I decided to give it a try…ya, at least once..else you wouldn’t know.
A farm like eating area. (with cloud shaped lights)
This Moo Moo Cow is the main character. I noticed…each outlet has different color cow.
Hhmm…I feel like I’m in a barnyard…
Place your order here. Steps shown on how to place your order. (self service basis)
Free sampling. You may sample the flavors first before placing your order. Wanyi busy sampling. While Ashley chup-ing a seat. Then Melissa busy taking photos ^^
Moo Cow Frozen Yogurt in the yummy original or seasonal flavor.  You can add toppings of your choice! There were quite a number of choice of toppings.
Instead of the original flavor, we chose the seasonal flavor. The seasonal flavor for this month is Cinnamon and Rootbeer. After sampling it, we decided to go for Cinnamon. Cinnamon flavour + 1 topping priced at RM11.90. If you like to have additional topping, just top up another RM1.
Here, our choice of topping is Oreo Crumbs. Moo Cow frozen yogurt is creamy, smooth and dense! It has good consistency…even till the last spoon..the texture still remain same. I meant, it did not turn watery.
Wanyi, the bride to be is in the house! Looking forward to her wed this weekend….
Do you love Moo Cow?  YES! I certainly Moo Cow….
Christmas Deco At MidValley Megamall
Christmas celebration is getting nearer. Counting on the days made you feel the excitement. The other day I posted about Christmas deco at Sunway Pyramid. Well, today I shall tour you to Midvalley Megamall….another popular shopping complex in Klang Valley. I recalled Midvalley often scored the highest point on Christmas deco, beating the rest of the competing shopping malls.
Myself and my gfs, we made a sudden changes to our meeting venue. Instead of Pavilion & Fahrenheit, we changed it to Midvalley Megamall. (erm…due to several reasons). I always sees Midvalley is creative in their festive deco. Last year they had it with the theme of “Have A FUNTOYSTIC Christmas!” – using toys and also stuffed toys as the main deco. While this year, their theme would be “An ‘A-maze-ing’ Christmas”. Able to imagine how does it look?
The main deco is located at Center Court.
A huge Christmas tree is placed in the middle.
This is what they called it “An ‘A-maze-ing’ Christmas”. The maze!
Greeted by this huge lion statue at the main gate to the maze.
Uhhh…the sleepy lion…
These are all artificial plants.
What do you think? A nice place to take photographs with your friends, family and your loved ones right? But dislike the crowd during weekends lah..
Ashley vs. Melissa
Lunch @ Tenjin Japanese Cuisine, Grand Millennium KL
Each day I received daily feeds from Everyday, Groupon and much more, sent to our mailbox offering discounts and great deals. I am so spoiled with choices. Especially on food. Nevertheless, to ensure I’m picking on the right choice, I must think wisely before I click on the ‘BUY’ tab. I wouldn’t say every voucher I purchased, guarantees me a good meal too…
This round, together with my girlfriends, Ashley & Wanyi, we decided to buy this deal offered by Groupon. A 4-course Japanese Bento Set Lunch + Free-flow of Green Tea at Tenjin Japanese Cuisine, Grand Millennium, Kuala Lumpur for RM29. Japanese food in a 5-star hotel? Sounds good rite? Therefore we made plans and redeemed our coupon last Saturday.
Ashley, redeeming her coupon for 2nd time for this round, gave a solid thumb up to the Japanese food.
There were 5 choices of bento for us to choose.
  • Chirashi Sushi Zen (RM56 value)
    Assorted Seafood on Sushi Rice
  • Gindara Teriyaki Zen (RM58 value)
    Grilled Cod Fish with Teriyaki Sauce
  • Sushi & Tempura Zen (RM52 value)
    Assorted Sushi and Tempura Set
  • Sashimi & Tori Teriyaki Zen (RM48 value)
    Sashimi & Grilled Chicken with Teriyaki Sauce
  • Makunouchi Bento (RM48 value)
    Sashimi, Yakimono, Tempura
Tenjin Japanese Cuisine recently opened in Grand Millennium Kuala Lumpur on Jun 3, 2011.
A medium size restaurant serving authentic Japanese cuisine.
An open kitchen where we able to witness the skillful chefs at work.
This young chef has his 100% concentration on the radish. Hmm…he must be preparing our food.
Started off with Tuna Salad
Gindara Teriyaki Zen
Grilled Cod Fish with Teriyaki Sauce
Check out this beautiful piece of grilled cod fish. This piece of cod fish is generally thick and its perfectly grilled. Tasty with some light and sweet teriyaki sauce.
Sashimi & Tori Teriyaki Zen
Sashimi & Grilled Chicken with Teriyaki Sauce
A closer look of the thick slices Sashimi and Grilled Chicken Teriyaki Sauce. I must say that the sashimi is very fresh, I couldn’t complain more. While for the grilled chicken I felt its abit bland to me.
Makunouchi Bento
Sashimi, Yakimono, Tempura
The nicely grilled fish has crisp skin while meat is tender and juicy. While for tempura, what else can you critic when its nicely battered and crispy.
Green Tea Ice Cream as dessert was refreshing. Hmm…this could be the best green tea ice cream I ever had. Its creamy while the taste of green tea wasn’t too strong. I like it this way.
Well, I guessed we’ve made a right choice! Though it was a discounted deal, I would say the service was good. Refilling your cup of green tea without a constant reminder and a phone call reminder to the guest 2 days before the reservation date.
