Lunch at “Ah Chong Seafood Restaurant”

Ah Chong Seafood Restaurant aka “Kantin Ah Chong” is located at Pantai Bersih of Butterworth.

Can you imagine that we were here after an hour break from our dim sum breakfast.

We are proven the great eater I suppose! After checking out from our lodging place in Sungai Petani, we drove there and reached at about 30 minutes later.

This restaurant has good view, because it is facing the sea. You can admire the beautiful sea view while enjoying your meal. As we came in a big group, therefore we sat on 2 separate tables. While the rest were busy ordering the food; lets have some photo shoot first. Common why want to waste the good scenes right

The following morning after Khong Hean’s wedding; all of us get ready by 10am and went for a light breakfast (kononya light, but from the photos you’ll see later, you will doubt that). This place was suggested by Daphne. Knowing me..for sure everything also feel like trying or order. Moreover went there with an empty stomach. :-p

I wasn’t quite sure whether is the popular ones or not. Judging from the amount of crowd in the restaurant it looks as though its good and popular. After trying it; I felt SO-SO only. Not every item is nice.

Visited this restaurant during our trip to ‘Khong Hean’s wedding.

We were brought to this restaurant by Alex Cheng & Daphne. Though we had a light lunch on that day; but we still manage to wallop all the food! GREAT EATER!! I was so amazed with all the fresh seafood. While I was busy taking photos of all the seafood (to share with you guys); Alex Cheng placed the food order. He ordered so much of food (I think he knows that we are PIRANHA). He doubled the order (each order x 2) as there were a total of 15 person. The food that he ordered was damn good! thumbs up***

Sushi King is having Donburi Promotion from 1-31 July 2010.

It comes with few choices. Since I’m dining over there; so why not have a try then.

The loving donburi set comes in a combination of rice & noodles. With the choices of Tori Mitso Katsu Don Set, Salmon Don Set and Sappari Don Set. (served in 140g rice)

While the mini don choices are Tori Mini Don, Tori Miso Katsu Mini Don and Saba Piri Piri Mini Don. (served in 60g rice)

Continued fromShort trip to Melaka

Got my map printed; read some reviews & recommendation from the internet. Reached the place at 4.55pm. The shop usually operates from 5pm. To my surprise; 5 minutes before 5pm, the restaurant already 1/3 occupied. (Luckily I was early; Luckily I got the help from google map, Luckily I managed to find a car parking lot). I’m not too sure whether is this the best one or not. But its recommended by many bloggers. Moreover the place is easy to find too! Approximate 20 minutes later; the crowd started to come in. The queue grew 10 times by the time we left at around 6pm.

Each skew priced at RM0.80.

each table are only entitled for 1 bunch of this “hou liu”

add in grounded peanuts & chili powder to the boiling satay soup. this is to thicken the gravy.

I have discovered a delicious Korea food in FOOD GARDEN. Food Garden is a food court located in T-216A , 3rd Floor of The Gardens Mall. The business runs by a Korean family. So, I would consider the food is quite pure though. Despite of the affordable price; the food is very satisfying too. **STRONGLY RECOMMENDED BY Mel**

Photos here are the set of Bebimbap. (comes together with a ‘kimchi chigae’, kimchi, potato). For the price of RM19.90 + 5% government tax.

Besides these; the Chicken BBQ Set is nice as well!

Happy 2nd ROM Anniversary

My ROM date marked on 14 June. This year should be counted as 2nd year. We did not really celebrate the 1st one, as we both were busy preparing our wedding on last September. So, this round also we had a simple one only though since we just return from Korea trip (pocket kena refill sikit). Thought of getting some nice hotels to spend a night. But the nice ones are so costly. ie; Sunway Resort, Traders Hotel, etc. With the price of around RM500 per night(just to tidur); I’ll rather spend a lil bit more extra on the Legend International Water Home with private swimming pool lagi best! Hor….Alex hor…**I’ve hinted liao….next trip yea…yea??**

Our last resort; booked CITITEL Midvalley (superior room)-good location with affordable price , booked buffet dinner over Sun & Surf Cafe of Sunway Resort-recommended by Wanyi.

Today; on lunar calender(5th day of 5th month) marked Duan Wu Jie(端午節) or better known as Dragon Boat Festival. On this day, rice dumpling(粽子) will be the main role, where you can see traders selling them or some people will prefer to custom made it. Actually there’s a story behind this festival. Besides that; there are various types of rice dumplings & even different methods of wrapping.

The link above shown the ordinary or traditional types of rice dumplings. Some people may opt for a luxury one. But it may cost a bomb. Because it consists of expensive ingredients such as; abalone, dried oyster & etc.

From June onwards Big Apple Donuts & Coffee has launched their brand new version of donuts, named Donashi. It consists of 28 different types of flavors.

This brand new version of donuts really look like ‘sushi’. With the purchase of 28 pieces in a box; it comes with a small container of chocolate dipping sauce. Its sold in 2 types of packaging; 18 pieces for the price of RM20 and 28 pieces for the price of RM25. Now, you do the calculation. :-p

In my honest opinion, I would say this is something new and special indeed!

Besides trying the donuts; I also tried the new Strawberries and Cream Frappuccino from Starbucks Coffee. Its a new flavor. Despite having coffee most of the time, this is a good choice too! With the additional of chocolate chips; it tasted much more nicer. Just like having chocolate strawberry ice cream.

cinnamon roll = RM4.80 (taste=not nice,very dry), chicken sausage roll = RM4.80 (taste = acceptable), Venti size frappuccino = RM16 (add chocolate chips, additional RM2).

I have been noticing this restaurant each time I go to The Gardens Mall.

Its always full with crowd. Therefore this time Alex suggested that we should try the food over there. We were there at around 1pm. Unexpectedly the restaurant was full. The waitress gave us a number (43) and asked us to wait to be call. I was like; “huh….macam bank pulak,kena ambil nombor”. But luckily we waited for about 10 minutes, then our number was called.

They have a wide range of food in their menu. The minimum price for each dish will be around RM10. We ordered ‘smoked duck noodles(myself), BBQ pork rice set, ohh jien (fried oyster with egg), apple yogurt drink & COKE.

Our bill came up to be RM75. Quite expensive also hor…

Overall i would rate them as:-

FOOD = 4/5

ENVIRONMENT = 3/5

CLEANLINESS =  5/5

SERVICE = 3/5

I do not like their table seating for 2 person. The tables are so close to each other. Its like I’m sharing table with strangers.
