Dinner @ Canton-i, Sunway Pyramid

Papa suggested to have dinner here. Canton-i; the Hong Kong cuisine – ain’t my first visit. My previous visit; we had some different dishes from this round. I do admit that it has nice ambiance. (simple Chinese style deco with white tables and chairs). Nevertheless; the price are indeed more pricey if you compare the same wanton noodle with those at hawker stalls. Yet during peak hours, its quite crowded too. People here are willing to pay more for better environment and comfort.

Braised Peanuts – RM2/ plate

(I thought this was given free~~~) But it taste nice and the nuts are soft enough.

Jasmine Flower Tea – RM5

3 Combination (Roasted Chicken+Roasted Pork+BBQ Pork) – RM32 (recommended)

Roasted Chicken – Meat are tender and tasty.

BBQ Pork – BBQ to perfection. Nice sauce coated on the lean and juicy pork.

Roasted Pork – Ain’t too fatty…I like it. Meat are tender and most important is the skin are crispy!

Braised Garoupa Belly with Garlic and Pork Belly – RM32

Taste ok but nothing special. Not worth it!

Steamed Egg with Minced Pork – RM13.80

Though it look simple…taste wise is not bad. The steamed egg was very smooth.

Sauteed Scallops with Broccoli – RM32

Nothing special either.

Amaranth(Bayam) with Century Egg & Salted Egg in Superior Soup – RM16.80

The picture on menu looks nicer. I think the ‘tai chaw’ restaurant makes better.

Dried Scallop & Squash Superior Soup – RM28

This soup is tasty & yummy. Boiled with pork ribs and each sliced of squash were stuffed with dried scallop. However it looks alil oily.

Egg Tarts – RM9.60 (recommended)

This is my favorite egg tart. The freshly bake egg tarts with flaky crust and creamy warm egg custard which I adore most.

Double Boiled Hasma with Red Dates – RM12/bowl

I want to look youthful..I want to have flawless skin…So I must eat more….*slurping down my throat*

**I felt the food above not worth it. I much prefer their noodles and congee  is the best!! **

Dessert Time @ Snowflake, SS15

There’s always this small space in my stomach spared for dessert. Dessert can actually made a person happier. *that would be me of course*

Right after our lunch at Face to Face Noodles House, SS15, we decided to go for dessert at Snowflake which is just a walking distance (back row of shops). Yea..just name me ‘tam jiak’…  ^^

SNOWFLAKE is trademarked Taiwanese dessert concept which started off in 2009. It has now expand with several outlets in KL. (Subang, Pavilion, Kota Damansara, Kuchai and Sungei Wang).

We were there at around 12.30pm. Surprisingly the door was closed. Looked at the business hour…*Alamak…opens at 1pm ler! What to do..already all the way there, wait lor… Apparently not only us eagerly waited for the door to open. There were also other customers. *raised eyebrow*

At 1pm…Its still quite vacant.

Queue up to place your order. Yeap…self service.

Jeng Jeng Jeng….I’ve successfully collected 10 stamps. I’m gonna redeem a free bowl of dessert. Getting a new card as well…

After you placed an order and made your payment, you will be given this ‘beeping UFO’. (really look like an UFO too). What is that for?? Bring it over to you seat. Once you see this “UFO” vibrates and with blinking lights, means your dessert is ready and you may collect them from the counter.

Snowflake Bestseller – RM6.90 (recommended)

This is my favorite! Bottom is iced glass jelly, covered with layer of glass jelly and topped with taroballs. Add the creamer for extra flavors. The taroballs are chewy and I usually save for the last!

A closer view

Tohua Series (with only kidney beans) – RM5.00

A bowl of cold smooth smooth tohua together with the nicely cooked kidney bean.

Tohua Series (with sweet potato, pearls, taroballs) – RM6.50

For tohua series; you may choose your desired topping. (green bean, red bean, peanuts, barley, kidney bean, black glutinous rice, sweet potato, baby pearl, pearl, lotus seed, taro, taroballs, sesame balls). The tohua can be either cold or hot too.

Sea Amber Jelly – RM6.90

An icy dessert topped with jelly and pearls. Hmmm…not really my liking.

Half an hour later…..It became so crowded now! So good business….

Lunch @ Face to Face Noodles House, SS15

Last weekend we were at Subang. Having thoughts of what to eat for lunch other than Taipan, USJ. Alex suggested SS15. Yahh..I knew this place de…ASIA CAFE is over there (my favorite spot at night). There are quite varieties of food there. Just name what cuisine you preferred. Pizza, Burgers, Western, Chinese, Desserts, Bakery. However this area is often jam especially after 9pm!!

Among all; we chose  Face to Face Noodles House. Why? Dunno…ask Alex…

Anyway, “Face to Face” 面对面?? Sounds cute right…

About the history and story of  Face to Face Noodles House, please refer to their website at the bottom of this post. I was quite surprised that there are total of 16 outlets and will be opening another 3 outlets soon. Apparently the specialty here are noodles. The noodles are traditionally homemade.

A tray of assorted chili

The recommended Chili Flakes. Goes well with all the noodles.

Honey Lemon Ice – RM2.90

Ice Lemon Juice – RM2.80

White Coffee – RM3.50

3 Layer Wheat Grass – RM4.50

**all the drinks above are not bad. can try**

Type of noodles that you may choose

House Specialty Hot & Spicy Dry Pan Mee – RM5.60

Flour noodle topped with fried anchovies, minced pork and poached egg. Must add chili flakes! Then stir everything. However I much prefer the on I had at Super Kitchen.

House Specialty Soup Pan Mee – RM5.60 (recommended)

I like this. The broth taste good. Taste like homemade ones. (Mummy’s version)

Genki Herbal Pan Mee Sua – RM8.90 (recommended)

This one is not bad too. Especially the herbal soup. Boiled with jujube,  “luk juk” and chicken thigh. Very tasty.

Traditional Sarawak Noodle – RM5.60

Here in KL is rather difficult to get an authentic Sarawak Noodle(Mee Kolok). The one I had here look 90% similar to the original Sarawak version. But taste wise is different. This Sarawak Noodle is too dry.

A comparison I made.

Dark Soy Sauce & Chili Sauce Sarawak Noodle – RM5.60 (recommended)

I would say this is better than “Traditional Sarawak Noodle” above. This is more tasty and nice.

Kimchi Dumpling Soup – RM4.80 (5 pcs) (recommended)

The ingredients used in for wrapping are quite dense and tasty. Not forgetting the flavorful soup.

Dinner @ Restoran Bubur Manis Zhuan Kee

There are times I much prefer hawker food. Hawker food can be nice too…

What’s popular here? What are attracting most of the crowd? The ‘pan min’ or ‘min fun kou’ . I preferred ‘min fun kou’ than ‘pan min’. Besides that, they also served good tong sui with an affordable price(RM1.20-RM1.50). Types of tong sui that they usually have are; red bean soup, mung bean soup,  fu chuk yi mai (beancurd sheets and barley soup), bubur cha cha, sweet potato soup, ‘Mak Chuk’ (Wheat Porridge), Hak Lo Mai (Black Glutinous Rice).  This place was formerly located just a short distance away; at a small food court which has  torn down and now turned into a ‘lalang’ place. *what a waste*

I still remember us (usually with my siblings, or my neighbor) we walked there to ‘dapao’. Because we live nearby. Back then; a bowl of ‘min fun kou’ was only RM1.60. But that was 10 years ago…. Now the price has doubled!

Still so crowded as usual. Business hour starts from around 6pm till late night.

Wu Tau Kou (Yam Cake)

Papaya with White Fungus Tong Sui – RM1.20

A refreshing and has cooling effect soup. Boiled with jujube, white fungus and shredded papaya.

Bubur Cha Cha – RM1.50

A creamy bowl of bubur cha cha with flavorful coconut milk. Boiled with sago, sweet potato and cubes of yam.

Min Fun Kou – RM3.70 (Medium)

Though it may look simple, but the broth is tasty and flavorful. Topped with crispy fried anchovies. Must be eaten with cili padi!!!

Hakka Mee

Not bad. But of course ‘Tow Kee’ is still the best! *Laughs*

Pork Satay -RM0.60 each

The meat was grilled to perfection. Meat is tender and juicy yet tasty. Nice ler…Not much of fats too…Likey**

Food : 8/10

Service : 7/10 (though its so crowded, but the food served were quite fast)

Price : Affordable

Are you a COFFEEHOLIC?

Do you like coffee?

How often do you take coffee?

And that’s how many cup a day?

Are you addicted to coffee?

How coffee affects you?

Each day I usually drink  a cup of coffee before I go to work. (A cup of aromatic Nescafe Gold). Knowing that coffee has more CONs than PROs, so I thought of cutting my 1 cup a day coffee habit. -Trying to minimize the intake. Therefore I had a cup of hot chocolate with 2 slices of toast for my breakfast. I came to work with my mind in a state of blur, sleepy and alil giddy. I was feeling sleepy the whole morning. Few more hours to go….Hope I would be able to get over it. Damn…was it all because just a cup of coffee?? Common…….its TGIF wey…I should be jumping in joy ler….

Dinner @ MATSU Japanese Restaurant, Seremban

I recently fall in love with Sashimi (raw fish) especially on Salmon.<—-My latest Affection!!

Once again I would like to emphasize, in Seremban there aren’t much choices of Japanese Restaurant. (Sushi King is not counted). An authentic ones I shall say. This restaurant happens to be located near my house and has been operating for few years. Business is quite good too…(like wise I said not much choices ma).

My first visit was years back (wahhh….sounded so long ler). And this was my second visit. Wanting to try some sashimi lor…salmon perhaps.  *wink*

Located in the middle of  a row of 2-storey shops.

Simple interior deco

warm lighting with some Japs feel (style)

Chef at work! The open kitchen concept.

wah..got newspaper cuttings from local news publications..

We took sometime to study the menu as they offers extensive menu.

Itacho Omakase Sashimi – RM110 (Chef’s Recommendation*)

This plate of sashimi embedded with  julienne white radish recommended by chef for serving of 2. The price gave me a shock. However, I wouldn’t deny that the raw fish are indeed very fresh . (still missing it). – satisfied the hungry woman.

Tori Teppanyaki – RM19.80 (recommended)

The pieces of chicken meat were nicely pan-fried. Taste good & the meat are tender too. Served together with some bean sprout. I recalled the bean sprout fat and crunchy.

Garlic Fried Rice – RM7.80 (recommended)

A simple fried rice with egg and light soya sauce. Garnished with chopped golden brown garlic and spring onion. Couldn’t resist the nice fragrant of the rice. Served warm!

Asari Miso Shiru – RM7

Miso soup with clams. I find that the soup more on the salty side.

Chawa Mushi – RM5.80

A normal chawa mushi(steamed egg) with slices of mushroom.

Food :  4/5

Service : 4/5

Price : I find it quite expensive ler….

PappaRich has arrived Seremban

Papparich has now landed in Seremban town!! Something to glamor about lor…For the past whole month, its always crowded. Especially during peak hours. New stuff, new place, everyone will be buzzing there. I remembered there’s one night, I went there with my mom & brother at about 9pm. We need to wait to get a seat. Not only that, I wasn’t dare to order any food (worried I may need to wait long). Therefore all 3 of us only ordered drinks. Hence it took 30 minutes for the drinks to be served!! Quite pissed oso lar…Moreover they hired mostly foreign workers…it was like a hen talking to duck (kai tung arp kong). He don’t understand my question and I hardly understand his reply….. DUHHHHH

Last Saturday, Sin Wei and I met up for breakfast. As a token of appreciation, she offered to treat me breakfast at Papparich.  Ahh..that would be good enough.

You would much prefer to dine in the morning. We were there at 9am and there were only few tables of customers.

Dry Koay Teow with Prawns & Chicken Slices – RM9.90

Flat rice noodles served with tasty sweet sauce, prawns and chicken slices.

Teochew Chicken Siew Mai – RM5.80 (so so only)

Pappa Wholemeal Steam with Margarine & Kaya – RM4.20

Coffee – RM3.20

Milo Dinosaur – RM5.50 (recommended)

BBQ Dinner @ Trader’s Food Shop, Avillion Admiral Cove

As promised earlier; I will blog about my dinner treat at Avillion Admiral Cove.  That night,we decided to try its BBQ Buffet. Its a nice location. Because you may enjoy the nice view of marina while enjoying your meal. But during buffet, how often lar you will go enjoy the scenary…*LOL!* Moreover you hardly choose to sit outdoor…not scared digigit nyamuk meh..

The weekends buffet dinner begins at 6pm. Price is at RM60++

I preferred to be seated indoor (with air condition). Which is more comfortable.

The Salad Line

Pickles and Salad Dressing. Waa…I spotted cincalok. Do you like it?

Salted Fish / Ikan Masin

Wanted to warm up my stomach, I took a bowl of soup noodles served with bean sprout, fish cakes, slices of chicken and some spring onions. Too bad the soup was not warm enough for me. & tasted abit bland too.

Alex eagerly went to get some satay. Which has the longest queue. Worth the queue. Because it really taste good. Juicy and tender chicken meat. Not much fats either. We went second round for this satay.

Grill Sambal Sting Ray

BBQ Chicken Wings & Sausages

The wings have good aroma. Just that it would taste better if they could adjust the salt level. The flesh tasted abit bland.

The Grilled Lamb was good. Tender and tasty. I like it to be covered up with black pepper sauce. You may also choose mushroom sauce.

Sweet & Spicy Grilled Crab

Grilled Prawns – Prawns are fresh!

Porridge with Condiments. I like the combi! The porridge is smooth.

Tom Yam Seafood – Was not pleased with the soup.

Gosh…I wasn’t aware! Its almost half gone. Luckily Chef Ignatius, the Executive Chef was kind enough. He replenished this bowl of fresh mussel just for me to capture another nice shot! A friendly chef indeed. He is very cautious. He seems to check the food on the buffet line every now and then.

replenishing in progress……

Fresh Mussels (After its replenished)

Chef thought me how to differentiate between both colors of mussels. The white and orange ones. Apparently, the ‘white’ is male. While the ‘orange’ is female.

Tosai with Dhal Curry & Sambal

In buffets; the most anticipated part for me would be cakes and desserts. Unfortunately over here the choices are limited.

a short getaway……..2D/1N@Avillion Admiral Cove

In conjunction to our anniversary and with a minimal budget; we decided to choose Avillion Admiral Cove as our destination of a short getaway! Avillion Admiral Cove is located at Port Dickson, which is just approximate 30 minutes drive from my home (I can save travel expenses too…).

*If you would like to head to PD town, you will need to drive for about 15 minutes.

My planned iternary of the day. Looks kiddie..but cute right?? ^^

The crowded lobby. Duno why so many people chose to go on the same day =_=

View from lobby

The grand stairway

The room check-in was done quick. May be because I’ve already made my payment when I booked the room through PYO Travel website.

I booked a Superior Room for RM220 (inclusive of breakfast for 2). It could be that I did not inform them much earlier that I wanted a big bed. Therefore I was given the room with 2 single beds. In resultant of that; Alex pushed both beds together.

The Bathroom – Standing Shower Area.

I wasn’t too sure how come the toilet area stinks alil. There could be a hidden area which was uncleaned *yuckiieeee*

This area looks like an office to me ^^

A small sofa for you to watch TV

Well….I switched it to ‘timer’ with ‘continuous shot’ for the photos above…

(wahh…now I realized that our shirt color matches the sofa lerr….)

Left side view from our room’s balcony.

The marina view

Kids Pool

Adult Pool

Seeing the pool, plus with the hot weather, I felt like jumping into the pool immediately!

Only reveals the back…..

Hand in hand we walk together…Till when? I hope is forever!

From the hotel main entrance, walk about 5 minutes to the private beach.

hehehe….stole a snapshot of the sand castle did by a little gal

We had fun with our shadows! =p

Over here, you may rent a bicycle. RM15 per hour (if I’m not mistaken)

Mel at Art Space

They do serves good breakfast….

Review :  The Superior Rooms are located at ‘View Wing’ (which is the one room that I shared photos here). The furniture seems to be alil old. If to be given a chance to stay again; I think I will choose Deluxe Room located at ‘Vista Wing’ which is much newer. Facility wise; if the pool table would to have more than 1; that would be better. heheh….

Snow Ice @ ice room, PD

Thanks to Mimi’s Dining Room whom actually blogged about this place just at the right time before I visit Port Dickson. I am delighted that, this would be another eating spot added to my iternary of the day! YIPPIE>>>>

Right after our lunch at Restoran Mei Jing; we drove to PD town which took about 15 minutes. Wanting some so-called light exercise, we went to BILLION supermarket to grab some stuff (ie: mineral water & tit bits).

We managed to locate the place (ice room) as quite visible…. I suppose there’s only 1 big roundabout at PD town. Ice Room is a corner shop, a 3 storey building with striking green paint color.

When you are at the roundabout…you surely won’t miss it.

They do have several branches. Located at LOT 10, Cheras, Nilai, Seremban, Bangi, Kajang, Sri Gombak, Kota Damansara, Plaza Mon’t Kiara.

Ice Room is a one of its kind lifestyle café. But I think their signature item would be the ‘Snow Ice’.

The modern & well-lit interior. Yet its using the ‘green’ theme.

menu and a piece of list for you to tick your order and hand over to the waiter

assorted snow ice attached with photo, easier for you to place your order. At least you can picture out what you are ordering.

Serves fusion food suitable for all races here. However it did not attracts me much…because I’m still full with my previous meal ^^

Durian Snow Ice – RM8.90 (recommended)

This was the STAR of the day. If you are a durian fans…you surely adore this. Topped with tapioca pearls and basil seeds with nice aromatic durian taste.

Mango Pomelo Snow Ice – RM7.90

I frown a second when I saw this. Though is has nice mango taste and chunks of sweet mango….but anyhow, I felt that the chocolate rice spoiled the outlook of it. Should have just leave alone the basil seeds and a slice of strawberry. I almost forgotten the word ‘pomelo’ after I re-view my menu. Because I couldn’t taste nor spot any pomelo in it.

A closer look…. Flaky and strands. But it taste just as smooth and creamy like an ice cream.

Two Variety Custard Layer Cake – RM3.00

The cake was served warm. The texture is fluffy and not too sweet. I like to take a bite of it after I finish my cold ice…I could feel the warmness in my mouth.

OK..I was acting crazy again….

Ahhh…now at least a decent one…

Its soothing to have a bowl of snow ice during hot spell.
